Lindy update29 Jun 2007 01:06 GMT18
The vet called me this morning.  She said Lindy's thyroid is a little off,
but it can be treated.  Everything else is fine.  Whew!
She wants to do a 30-day trial of the medication, and said I should watch
her for side effects.  I asked, and she said I can wait until I get back
New Arrivals Update28 Jun 2007 22:39 GMT15
We moved Tayla upstairs into Ben's office last night, both so she wouldn't
be quite so isolated and lonely (my office is an extra room off the garage),
to let her sounds and smells mingle with the "upstairs" cats, Demi and
Jessie, and to give Sammy (who is traumatized by sounds ...
May I ask for some purrs?28 Jun 2007 22:09 GMT45
I think I've posted about my apartment situation.  To summarize, the
landlord sold the building to a real estate agent who set off my alarm
bells immediately when I met him.  He sent me a lease he wanted me to
sign, with the most ridiculous restrictions and punitive fees I have
Bob's cat Frannie28 Jun 2007 22:01 GMT6
I asked a few weeks ago for purrs for Frannie.  She got run over by a car.
Seems to have worked pretty well!  This is what Bob told me today:
-----------
Frannie is doing incredibly well since her accident. If you didn't know
Oh Noooooo.......28 Jun 2007 21:59 GMT14
My daughter just called and she has acquired two 2-week-old orphan
kittens. She wanted to ask if I could take them to the shelter.
Well, after that rabid fit I threw over the orphan kitten there a week
ago, I could hardly ask them to take them, could I?
New Abelard Piccies28 Jun 2007 21:52 GMT7
Abelard was so adorable this morning when he was waking up, that I took a
series of pictures of him, and posted them online:

(I have no clue why the pics went under August 30, 2001; it just happened
13th anniversary28 Jun 2007 21:50 GMT17
Tomorrow June 17 will be the 13th anniversary of Rusty's adoption. I
plan to buy a big bag of treats for him. With all his health
problems,  I didn't think we will have this anniversary. But
hopefully, God willing, we will celebrate a few more anniversaries. He
Pics: Mere earthworm28 Jun 2007 21:11 GMT15
It has been raining today, and the worms have crawled up from the soil
onto the paved part of my patio (why do they do that??? Why do they
leave their cosy moist soil and crawl onto hard surfaces? And when the
rain stops they shrivel up and die?). This smart worm stayed in the
Tommy's new trick28 Jun 2007 20:36 GMT6
You may recall me posting once or twice about how Tommy likes to flop down
in front of my feet while we're on a walk. Of course he hasn't gone for a
walk with me, or been outside off a leash at all, for about 16 months now,
but he's found a new behavior that has a similar effect ...
Are they gonna believe me?- Well it's true28 Jun 2007 20:29 GMT3
Had to go to a big meeting yesterday to take minutes. Meeting lasted so long
that I came home afterwards and plonked down a carrier bag with my notebook
in it
Woke up this morning and found that Sarrasine had been in the carrier bag and
I think I found a home for Stinky Nick.......28 Jun 2007 20:15 GMT15
And it's not mine.....
*SIGH*
A lady came in today with FOUR bitties, and all of them about Nick's
age.  When she made the appointment in the morning we got to talking
Do you need a laugh?28 Jun 2007 20:12 GMT8
These are some foster kittens someone I know is fostering. Ramona is
quite the affection hound. Poor little Quimby down on the condo who you
see is stuffed up and not well, but even he has to go see......
(must watch to end)
If you'll bear with me...28 Jun 2007 20:05 GMT23
...for one last post and I'll try to quit burdening the group with me grief.
This is the little memorial I set up on my desk at work for Bandit (yes,
they know I'm the crazy cat lady and they totally understand - or at least
don't make fun of me to my face!!!).
Betty's successors in hiding28 Jun 2007 19:51 GMT70
I've brought home two kitties from the shelter named "Dot" and "Burt".
I've closed off a lot of rooms, but they seem to be in hiding right
now anyway. :)  Where did they go!?
My Cat steals straws28 Jun 2007 17:10 GMT10
Rudy, a siamese mix, cannot resist drinking straws!!!
I cannot drink ANYTHING... iced tea, water, etc. with a straw without
him stealing my straw.
I have to give him a NEW straw to distract him from taking the one fro
