Carrot Hunting30 Jun 2007 00:43 GMT11
I dropped part of a carrot on the floor in the kitchen - a stub about 2"
long, left after grating most of the carrot into a salad. I forgot about it
because I was doing something urgent at the time, and I am forgetful.
So this evening I walk into the living room and see sis ...
Update On My Nephew29 Jun 2007 22:24 GMT13
He has a broken back as well as a broken leg and arm.  The head injuries
weren't mentioned so I gather it was a gash on the head (they bleed a lot).

break is but oh this really sucks.  They need to throw the ...

Cats' DNA reveals time and place of domestication29 Jun 2007 21:10 GMT7
The gist of this artilcle from Nature
(<http://www.nature.com/news/2007/070625/full/070625-10.html>)
is that domestic cats are descended from at least five separate
domestication events in the Near East, not Egypt.  Our companion cats

The Prophet's Progress29 Jun 2007 20:45 GMT24
I am pleased to say i think Jeff recognized us when we went to his room last
night; huis eyes were briefly opened and he tried to wave; I think he even
tried to talk but he has a tube of some sort, probably for oxygen or to suck
crap out of his lungs. They have him in a bed that ...

The Babies Came Today29 Jun 2007 20:21 GMT13
Well, I've got the orphans. I don't think they are two weeks old, I
believe they are younger. They barely have their eyes open, and it
looks like the umbilical cord has just fallen off. Maybe 10 days old.
They are both tabbies. They were a little dehydrated when she got

After two very long days, lots of goings on and lots of advice I'm proposing
that we take it to the masters.
Jake and Molly plan to spend the next few days purring for Tak, Dot and
Buster to begin to settle in.  For guidance from the mothership.  For calm
not looking good for Muriel29 Jun 2007 19:55 GMT23
About October last year, I found a lump between Muriel's front
legs.  She's about 17 so, figuring that if it was cancerous it
needed immediate action, I took her to the vet straight away.
The vet removed a greyish blob, couldn't guess what it was - she
