Persia Talks with her Mouth Full20 Jun 2007 03:35 GMT5
After feeding Persia I sometimes stand there a moment to watch her.  She
turns her head and looks at me, kibble in her mouth, and meows at me.  It's
like she's saying, "Thank you for feeding me, you know I was starving!"  But
she winds up dropping pieces of unchewed kibble on the ...
Integrating the new kitties19 Jun 2007 21:47 GMT84
I'm finding myself calling Burt "Buster", for some reason. :)
I wonder if anyone has any thoughts on integrating these two.  They
didn't seem to be fighting, but when they meet, what usually happens
is that Dot will hiss and growl, Buster will try to get a little
URGENT - is there a non-tippable waterdish?19 Jun 2007 17:13 GMT17
The cats have one of those 'watering stations' that holds half a
gallon of water and gravity-feeds it into their dish... it works well
and makes sure they have enough water for about five days between
refills - but they keep tipping over and half a gallon of water on the

Baby Eyes has re-erupted19 Jun 2007 11:20 GMT3
We ran out of premium dry food and they've been eating Purina again for
about a week. Now Baby Eyes has scabs on her neck and head again :(
Nothing I can do about it at the moment.
dear Tak19 Jun 2007 07:44 GMT1
Hi Tak!  I just want you to know that I ventured here for the first time in
many many months and was THRILLED since this is another not-so-great time
in my life and first thing I get to see your posts about visiting the
shelter and then... OMG getting kitties!  I can't tell you how ...

Adventures in the Cat Food Isle19 Jun 2007 05:59 GMT15
I'm sure we've all had some interesting conversations in the cat food
isle.  Cat people usually do.
However, it's rare for a dog person to be there.
So I'm in the aisle, picking up a few cans of cat food to bolster what I
Lost pet notice :)18 Jun 2007 22:06 GMT7
This "lost pet" notice was posted in my neighborhood, and a photo of
the flyer was posted in the photo archive of my neighborhood's email
list. Identifying information (phone number, etc.) whited out.
This probably wasn't funny to the people who posted this. And it
Teaching bad habits18 Jun 2007 08:37 GMT1
I'm in the bathroom, and Bucky comes over to help me. I reach down and pet
him, while he settles in at my feet.
About this time, Dulce Mae comes in and sniffs Bucky's ear. Bucky cries
and ducks down.
Just for fun18 Jun 2007 05:56 GMT59
Well, we aren't all old enough (or are we?) to remember Saturday Night
Fever, Disco Balls and fru fru drinks like Singapore Slings and Pina
Coladas?  And this song...

The continued socialization of Bucky18 Jun 2007 05:17 GMT2
As I've mmentioned, Bucky is the feral 18 month old who has literally
grown up on our doorstep. From the time he was a little fluffball running
around with his mama, I have tried to socialize him (read: pet and cuddle
him - big grin).
