I'm in Shock19 Apr 2007 19:12 GMT3
Scene: Last night when all the cats were on the counter where there
food bowls are. Bear, the d*g is standing by, ready to eat any food
that falls on the floor. All the cats are milling around and eating
and then coming over to be petted. I am petting Winny because he keeps
The winds of. . . Whatever, mostly OT19 Apr 2007 17:24 GMT3
We were under Tornado watch/warning most of yesterday, though I had no idea at the time.  I kept seeing that places north of us were being told to hunker down, but then again...  I was going to let Speedy, the d-thing out into the back yard to do his thing, when one of the kids ...
what's that NOISE???19 Apr 2007 15:13 GMT10
A couple of evenings ago, late at night, we began to notice a strange
rumbling noise. Thought it might have been the washing machine; I went
to check, no, I hadn't turned it on.  Then thought it might have been
the neighbour across the road who drives enormous diesel recovery
Moishe19 Apr 2007 04:49 GMT3
All the hockey music questions in an earlier post put me in mind of a fella
named Moishe, whom I'd never had the privilege of meeting but whose legacy is
legendary in the area where my husband grew up.
Moishe (pronounced Moy-shee) was a huge, pure white cat adopted by a neighbor
Cats Are Very Shy Toileters19 Apr 2007 01:15 GMT11
Cats in general are very shy toileters and will often only pee or poop
in their litter box if it is placed in a quiet, secluded area, away
from family members and other animals. The importance of your cat
toileting regularly cannot be over-emphasized. Too often owners do not

Ants!!18 Apr 2007 21:59 GMT23
There are itty bitty ants in my kitchen, all around the cat food
bowls!  Argh.  Rita doesn't like them.  How do I get rid of them
without spraying poison all over the floor where she eats??
I live in an apartment, so treating the outside of the house isn't an
The Furminator?18 Apr 2007 11:30 GMT13
Has anybody tried this new grooming tool? I've read rave reviews and
am about to take the plunge and buy one, even though they're
expensive--around $32 for the small one, $45 for the larger one. Users
swear that it cuts down on loose cat hair in the house by 90%.

Caliban's adoption page18 Apr 2007 00:47 GMT11
I was browsing through the web site of the organisation that I got
Caliban from (don't ask me why I go browsing through cat-rescue sites -
I'm definitely not looking to add another cat to the household!), and I
found Caliban's page among the adopted cats. It was so funny to read ...
Went to Chapel Hill:  Trip Report, not totally OT17 Apr 2007 17:04 GMT19
Rob was having problems with his seizure medicines, so we packed up the
walker, wheel chair, plastic tote of clothes, spare driver and bathroom
spotter (Mike) and all the other things we knew we'd need and headed north
to Chapel Hill.  The long and short of it:  I've been ...
Thank You ALL17 Apr 2007 07:52 GMT12
This group is awesome in helping me with Rob.  He cannot read right now, so
I read to him.  He really loves the stories I pick up from this group.  I
try to collect the funny, unusual, and inspiring posts.  Sometimes I'll just
say, something like "well Minke Poo had his birthday ...
