[Way OT] - JUST ONCE - VT Shootings24 Apr 2007 15:28 GMT126
Concerning the shooting at VT today (pardon my language):
Just once. JUST ONCE, I would like to hear that the gunman was taken out
by a couple of dozen fatal wounds from pissed off, heavily armed fellow
students who were in harm's way.
kitten update24 Apr 2007 05:54 GMT2
Gerald and Poppy have gone to a new home, seems they're very happy
there.  It's much tidier than our place and might seem a bit boring,
but they've got each other and the new owners dote on them.
So we still have Eccles and Siouxsie, who have calmed down a *bit*

state, not just our local efforts), meanwhile, next door, Illinois only had
946!!!

Tomorrow, April 21, my sweet Lily was born
somewhere in the streets of Montgomery County, MD.
She was taken to the Last Chance Adoption Center who
then turned her over to our local PetSmart store for
Do you love me TOO?23 Apr 2007 22:37 GMT5
Thursday, the weather got nice again, so I let Bucky go back out.
Little Boy sat in the window, and every time he saw a cat who was even
slightly grey, he sat up and meowed for his playmate to come back in.
Poor Little Boy!
Poll:  OT Night Owl or Morning Glory?23 Apr 2007 22:14 GMT21
Are you a night owl or a morning glory?  I prefer the night, but am usually
quite cheerful after being up for a half hour or so.  Rob and Mandy are
night owls and Mike has always been a morning glory, though his hours stink
lately.  The cats are mostly night owls, though Huey, ...
Mango - RB23 Apr 2007 22:13 GMT18
My brother's 12 y.o. striped orange tabby went to the Rainbow bridge this
morning.  Mango had been battling an infection he got from a bite of some
sort.  He got out, so my brother doesn't know what got him.  My brother has
a good friend who is a vet, and she said that due to ...
Casper (RB)23 Apr 2007 22:07 GMT52
My beautiful blue-eye'd baby is gone.  Ultrasound showed a mass
pressing on her liver and causing all the problem.  Gall bladder was
abnormal as well.  Inoperable due to location.  Probably secondary
tumor...can't type through my tears....
Vet Tech Journals: Life continues.........(long)23 Apr 2007 21:22 GMT12
LIfe at the vet clinic has pretty much gone about as what one could
consider "normal"  Day in, day out we start the day turning on all the
equipment, taking care of boarders, seeing appts and treating animals
and several hours later we find outselves turning off the equipment
Strange Alien Being23 Apr 2007 21:11 GMT13
Merlin, aka the strolling road block (what the fat wench calls me), here.  Ok, all of us know that all chairs, beds, rugs, carpets, pillows, window ledges, counters, desks, tables, and anything else we want to claim belongs to us cats, right?  Well why didn't some one tell the ...

Can someone tell me how to view alt.binaries.pictures.animals?  I am
on the dreaded Google groups. :)  Thanks.

Ants!  Part two23 Apr 2007 12:54 GMT6
Up until now, all I saw were tiny little ants in Rita's dry food
bowl.
Cleaned that up, powdered the floor, sprayed the immidiate
infestation, put down ant traps, and put her dish on a plate with
Rebuilding a scratching post23 Apr 2007 00:01 GMT5
One of the cats (Amber) had just about torn the small scratching post to
shreds.  Thursday I bought 65 feet of sisal and Saturday I rewound the
post.  It looks like brand new but so far it hasn't been used.

Slightly OT: a catslave birthday22 Apr 2007 22:01 GMT9
DD2 turned one yesterday! She is a devoted catslave-in-training, and
has already mastered holding and waving the feather-tipped fishing rod
toy.  She started crawling a little over a month ago, and uses her new
skill to chase the kitty boys around. She acts like she won the
More quarantines22 Apr 2007 21:58 GMT14
CERES, Calif. - A Stanislaus County hog farm was placed under quarantine
after an industrial chemical that's tainted more than 100 brands of dog and
cat food was found in pig urine there, state agriculture officials said late
Thursday.
