Persia did Upside Downey Head in my Hand!03 Mar 2007 02:35 GMT7
I was on the couch yesterday watching television and Persia was snuggled up
next to me.  (She finally got off the plaid shirt!)
I had my hand out and she laid her head in my palm (so sweet!).  She fell
asleep.  Next thing I knew, she did upside downey head in my hand.  And she

The birds were taunting Vino!03 Mar 2007 02:17 GMT23
I was sitting here at the computer this morning and the door to the back
yard was open.  Suddenly we heard this loud bird squawking and it went
on and on and on.  Looked outside and there were a couple of black and
white birds sitting on the fence (7 ft high) and Vino was ...
Bandit Becoming Senile?03 Mar 2007 01:10 GMT27
I will never, *EVER* understand the way cats think - *IF* that's what you
can call it!
Bandit, as most of you know, is now 17 years old and totally blind.  She
manages to make her way around the downstairs of my home quite well using
The Biopsy results :-(02 Mar 2007 19:43 GMT35
Well, we knew the cancer was back, but were hoping that it was the
Anaplastic Malignant Oliodendroglioma (what I call AMG or MAG
depending on how I write it that day).  Doogie told me today that the
biopsy shows borderling GBM.  Glioblastoma Metaforme is the worst kind

These folks got a puppy and videotaped scenes of it meeting their cat for
the first time:

I'll give you the update through this message.  BTW.  Pre-teens ok.  They
gave me a dirty look and left the library.  Am at th e same terminal with a
Purrs for Oscar02 Mar 2007 06:50 GMT19
No, we haven't increased the size of our family. Oscar belonged to a New
Orleans refugee here in Austin who just passed away. Tom had started
volunteering with this organization that helps people in the last stages
of cancer. Margaret only had an old picture of some relatives and ...
Losing a daughter...gaining a cat?02 Mar 2007 05:34 GMT14
My SIL interviewed for a position in Budapest in December - he got the
job.  He's now in Glasgow, Scotland, for eight weeks' training.  (His
adventures with understanding the Scottish accent are hilarious!) They
will move to Budapest probably some time in April.  Both have a
URGENT:  Need some advice02 Mar 2007 04:25 GMT60
From the Best Friends folks.  Remember a year or so ago when some of us
donated funds to help the rescue cats from the Iraq war?  Same organization.
Anyway, they are looking for someone to do a home check/visit for someone
who wants to adopt a cat in my area.  I replied back and ...
UPDATE re: Best Friends home check01 Mar 2007 23:14 GMT1
I got an email from them in response to my query about what is involved in a
home check for adopting a cat.  It says this:
"We generally ask that you look for the following things:
How many animals are in the house and which kind?  Dogs? Cats? Are any
Passing (?) stranger01 Mar 2007 22:33 GMT13
This afternoon I came home early and took care of some chores that
required slogging through the back yard mud.  As I came back from
burning the trash, I saw the handsomest strange cat (I'm pretty sure
he's an intact tom) coming out from under the workshop.  He walked
Work Cats01 Mar 2007 22:31 GMT7
It must be kitten season again, because in the last week I've seen lots of
6-8 week old kittens around at work, two of which are the splitting image of
IBKFergus, and several more who look similar enough to be obvious relatives.
However, there's clearly more adult intact cats on the ...
Organic cat food01 Mar 2007 21:35 GMT16
Happened on this stuff by chance at a discount grocery where I picked it up
for half of the MSRP. The cats can't get enough of it. Sniffing the open bag
it's almost appetizing to this dumb hoomin. SIGH. Even if I could afford it
at the normal price, it's not sold locally. Your ...
Speaking of Cat Food01 Mar 2007 21:22 GMT6
I got a call from the vet.  They got 2 bags of Persia's Hill's Prescription
Diet x/d in, did I want to come pick them up?  John gave me a little "pin
money" (as my grandmother would have called it).  So I went to the vet and
got the bags of food.
