The Highland Kitties (and humans) arrived safely in Iowa31 Mar 2007 22:37 GMT19
Sorry I haven't updated recently, but things have been a bit busy here.
Our drive from CA to IA was fairly uneventful, and we got into Grinnell,
IA on Friday. The place we rented turned out to be way smaller than we
expected (yes, we rented it sight-unseen), so we put 3/4 of our ...
Jassmin Bluebell31 Mar 2007 20:58 GMT5
Got an email from one of my kitties last night which I thought was cute
enough to share. The photo's were lovey as well.
I have had a week in my new home with Natasha now. I just wanted to write
you a note to say how I am doing.
Three Furry Good Years with Cat Five!31 Mar 2007 20:49 GMT16
On 3/24/2004 we took in a timid 3-year old tabby girl from the local kill
shelter, just as they were filling up with kittens. No one seemed to want
her as she hid in the back of her cage rather than desperately pawing
through the bars as the other cats did to get attention.  She had ...

Since Menu Foods, Inc. announced its massive pet food recall on March 16,
the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center has been flooded with calls from pet

My dresser eats cat toys!31 Mar 2007 02:48 GMT7
It's raised a couple of inches off the floor and it has a decorative
shaped front on it... it's easy for the girls to bat their toys
underneath the curved opening, but not nearly so easy for them to
fetch them out again! Every so often I sweep the long metal ruler
NEW WARNING FOR CAT-OWNERS (not! -> JOKE)31 Mar 2007 01:55 GMT21
I want to alert you all to atpotential terrible scam I have come across
(along with a disturbing revelation about Ketzl.)
Today Ketzl got an e-mail (seriously! It was addressed to him) from Chase
Bank alerting him to the probability that his account at Chase had been

Another lost soul returns to rpca30 Mar 2007 21:33 GMT9
I don't know what happened.  I just got depressed, and all I could do
was play Bubbels and MahJonng or watch TV (and do cat things, of
course).  And the longer it went on, the more I felt overwhelmed by the
thought of trying to read anything here.  Yikes -- over 5,000 messages I
New Nina Pictures30 Mar 2007 21:28 GMT20
I've become lazy about my Cat Photography, but I added nine recent
pictures (recent, meaning December-January this  year) of Nina to my
Yahoo Photo Album.  Don't know why there aren't any new ones of
Francesca--maybe she's feeling camera shy!  But Nina was quite the
Roomba plus cats30 Mar 2007 20:41 GMT28
I picked up a Roomba - one of those little robotic vacuum cleaners -
last week, and finally charged it up and set up a schedule for it
today.
While it was charging, Dulce Mae stepped on the "Clean" button, and it
Catnip thief30 Mar 2007 11:57 GMT6
I was about to head out for some errands this morning and Vino wouldn't
come in from the back yard when I called him.  I never leave the house
without making sure he's inside, so I went round the back to get him.
As I rounded the corner of the house, I saw this interloper cat ...
Making your own cat food?30 Mar 2007 00:58 GMT27
So with all the horror of tainted commercial cat food, I'm thinking
about making my own cat food. I know of a few people who make their
own dog food, but nobody who makes cat food. Is it more complicated
or something?

March 23, 2007 - ABC News has learned that investigators have determined
that a rodent-killing chemical is the toxin in the tainted pet food that has
killed several animals.
A source close to the investigation tells ABC News that the rodenticide,
