Poor Tessie!11 Feb 2007 22:05 GMT1
I don't know how she got that way when I just cleaned the apartment
yesterday, but she was absolutely FILTHY today! Her sleek black fur
was full of dust and grottiness and she didn't smell any too clean...
so she got her first bath in almost a year. She was VERY good about it
Roxy seems a bit worse today :(11 Feb 2007 21:52 GMT10
Her eye looks worse today. Now I'm kicking myself for not taking her
yesterday. But she looked so much better, I thought the treatment was
working!
I now have a theory that she has viral conjunctivitis, caused by herpes.
Roxy seems better tonight11 Feb 2007 20:45 GMT9
Thanks for all the purrs, advice, and sympathy.
I got home tonight and I could *see Roxy's eye*! It's still a bit
cloudy, but I can see the iris and the pupil. She seems to be in a
little better spirits, too. She lay on top of me for a half hour

We really MUST be catslaves...11 Feb 2007 17:30 GMT4
We were watching Top Design tonight and one of the designers did a
room for an artist who said her best friend was her cat... so he
decided to put in a cat-walk around the room and a lovely big cat tree
etc. so that they'd both be happy... anyway, the judges weren't
Purrs for a Houston Kitty - Abuse Warning11 Feb 2007 17:21 GMT83
There was a news story on TV here the past couple of nights about a boy who
sicced his dog on a neighbor's cat and videotaped the dog savaging the cat
to death.  He spent all of about 10 minutes in jail and just said,
sarcastically, "Well what do you expect from a teenager?"

You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man
that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes
in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all
out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes

I started providing services to rec.pets.cats many years ago before it
split, and have continued to do so ever since.  However, sadly, I am not
going to continue.
Waffles?10 Feb 2007 21:40 GMT7
The Newsgroup seems to be bereft of one of its members - Helen, aka
"Wafflycat". She's in Norfolk, I think. I hope it isn't bird 'flu...

The alien in Owl10 Feb 2007 21:38 GMT21
Dear group,
our Owl is occupied by an alien - the tongue! It lives in Owl's mouth.
I noticed it first, when Owl came, as usual, for a cuddle on my lap. I
was sitting on the sofa, thinking of nothing bad. He didn't forget to
Roxy's going to TED10 Feb 2007 21:28 GMT18
I woke up today and Roxy was sitting by the window with one eye
partially closed. Since that is not an unusual sight, given she
has feline herpes, I wasn't alarmed. Often she will have slight
trouble with one eye, but it doesn't last very long.

Update on 2Socks10 Feb 2007 20:43 GMT16
If you all remember, the stray cat my son had that had stickers (grass
burrs) in her mouth & throat that I took to the vet. It turns out she
was a "lost cat". He lives across the street from the school, someone
saw her outside with him, and told the owner. She didn't live too far
