What's Your View?23 Jan 2007 12:45 GMT57
Or, an alternate title, "Why My Cats Don't Go Out Anymore".
I always thought it would be fun if we posted a "view" from the window
we look out. I normally wouldn't do this right now, because there's
nothing uglier than Oklahoma's landscape in January. But I looked up

The extended cold snap has had Bucky inside for the past week. And he
has been putting it to good use.
Little Boy, who is the youngest of our cats, at two years old or so,
wants to play chase. Dulce Mae (about 4) and Little Feet (about 8) and
Contrary Mir23 Jan 2007 08:04 GMT5
I dug out these pictures of Mir and her siblings for another thread, and
had another look at them. I have no idea which of the little blue-grey
fuzzballs is Mir, but I just bet she's the one who is turned the wrong
way in this picture, where all her siblings are partaking of the ...

spending three weeks in the cargo hold of a United Airlines passenger jet.

Nosing the Bowl23 Jan 2007 04:43 GMT6
I can always tell how much Spotsie likes her food by the
distance she pushes the bowl trying to get that last crumb of
food.  The Friskies Whitefish and Tuna gets the push.  The
Friskies Salmon gets the dried up lump left in the bowl.
Smokey's wild ride23 Jan 2007 01:48 GMT7
It was Saturday evening - laundry day at our house.  The white things
had just finished in the dryer and I started getting them out and
folding them up.  That works a bit differently here than I suspect it
does in most places.
Swat low - too slow!23 Jan 2007 00:05 GMT1
Last night, I was feeling pretty tired. I saw Bucky lying down in the
hallway by the kitchen and thought, "I'll just lay down on the floor
with the cats for awhile."
So I did. I was petting Bucky, and he was purring and enjoying it as
Cat Taining22 Jan 2007 22:29 GMT1
Often, when I'm writing on the computer, my wife's tomcat would come up
and start circling and rubbing my legs.  If I petted him, he'd just
continue; if I ignored him, he'd sometimes start urinating.  What I
wanted, OTOH,  was to get him to stop and go away, but without hurting
Purrs and/or Advice Needed22 Jan 2007 21:59 GMT25
Earlier this week we took Hobo to the vet for his checkup/tests for
his kidney and diabetes problems.  He seems to be managing both pretty
well so far.  Although the vet didn't mention it, I've been suspicious
that Hobo is going blind so asked her point-blank.  She acknowledged
Unhooking in an hour or so22 Jan 2007 21:52 GMT8
The office is officially moving to the dining room in an hour or so.  With
all the other things to do, I don't know if I'll be hooked up before Monday.
I'll probably end up in the hospital not giving birth but suffering from
withdrawl!  Best wishes to all in the meantime.
Different styles of "kitten mind meld"22 Jan 2007 21:22 GMT10
I have been blessed with a house full of wonderful kitties, but especially
so since two of them like to practice the "Kitten Mind Meld". Being
distinctive individuals, of course they have their own styles.
Harri is my most prolific melder. I've mentioned before about how she
Completetly natural care for felines...22 Jan 2007 21:07 GMT12
I have a two year old, human companion, male, feline friend.
As a stern vegetarian and animal rights (PeTA) activist, I want to provide
completetly natural care for my companion.
He is an outdoor-only companion, as I believe animals are most happy and

Our 'Strange Cat Behaviour Of The Day'22 Jan 2007 20:53 GMT8
Well firstly, the Bedroom Rush.
We have the aircon on in our room at night, which means all cats have to get
the boot out first, as aircon + cat litter + small bedroom = very very
nasty. And the small ones would get cold. So first thing in the morning,
