I don't wanna . . .26 Jan 2007 02:58 GMT20
But I have to.  I'm sick, it's freezing cold out there, we had several
inches of snow today, but there is a big pile of bags containing used
cat litter that are gonna HAVE to go NOW.
Sniffle, sniffle, sigh, sigh.  What I don't do for these furry ones (and

How is Hobbes sans insulin?  Did you get test results yet?  It's a
short time but I wondered if there was any noticeable effect in
withdrawing the insulin.  Thanks.
Scouty the lap cat?! Who'da thunk it!25 Jan 2007 03:49 GMT4
Our great big furry chicken seems to have made some kind of a quiet
breakthrough again... she's always had conflicting impulses - to get
as close to meowmie as possible while purring her head off, while
avoiding the Daddy Monster and not actually allowing anyone to pick

A tail in the hand beats two in the bush!25 Jan 2007 00:57 GMT10
You just know your cat trusts you when you can go to sleep with her tail in
your hand :)  Or when she wraps her tail around your wrist and you just nod
off to sleep (hearing purrs the whole while)..  It's love!

New Catslave Born24 Jan 2007 21:35 GMT37
This is admitting I'm an old, old lady but....
My ninth great-grandchild was born this morning, a girl, weighing
in at 6 lb 1 oz, 8 weeks early, tiny, wiggly, hairless, wrinkled, red,
and beautiful.  Her name is Aegwyn Grace.
Otis is 11 years old today!24 Jan 2007 21:26 GMT27
Happy purrday Otis!  As Fred said this morning, Otis has had amazing
longevity for a cat with such poor judgement!
He's annoyed Fred *yet* again by his latest claiming of the cat scratchers.
Otis is very territorial about scratchers leaving Chester with only one
News About BonBon24 Jan 2007 21:03 GMT5
I just got an email from BonBon (Bonnie).  She had moved to Northern Nevada
from here in Houston about a year or so ago.  She asked me to tell everyone
here hello for her since she has an awful ISP and hasn't been able to
subscribe to any newsgroup since she's been there (OY, ...
Dulce Mae's Chagrin24 Jan 2007 20:38 GMT1
We have a large, cylindrical, heavy cardboard container that we use as
a dirty clothes hamper. It is very sturdy, as it was made to hold
industrial grade dissicant - the cardboard is a good half-inch thick.
This is what Dulce Mae likes to sharpen her claws on.
Cat Training24 Jan 2007 20:31 GMT9
Often, when I'm writing on the computer, my wife's tomcat would come up
and start circling and rubbing my legs.  If I petted him, he'd just
continue; if I ignored him, he'd sometimes start urinating.  What I
wanted, OTOH,  was to get him to stop and go away, but without hurting
I was scared24 Jan 2007 20:23 GMT8
Boyfie helped me with the chickens this morning and then wandered off into
the countryside.  No problem, he often does it.
He usually comes home in an hour or two and goes for a sleep on the spare
bed until it's time for teatime snacks.
Please could my cousin have some purrs?24 Jan 2007 20:19 GMT39
My cousin is dying of cancer and the doctors have told him that it is a
matter of days. He's currently being nursed at home by his family and
hospice nurses.
Wayne is 45 years old and successfully fought off bowel cancer 5 years
New photo page24 Jan 2007 20:14 GMT6
I bit the bullet and started yet another photo page, at Photobucket this
time. We'll see how fast I fill up their 10,000 picture quota... I guess
the excitement of having a new camera will wear off at some point. ;)
The only problem I have with Photobucket is the ridiculously ...
Laser Pointer Yikes!24 Jan 2007 19:31 GMT14
Here's something new to worry about with our cats' favorite toy (okay,
second favorite, since we hoomins appear to be their favorite toys -
grin).

My Friend Mrs Cat (RB)23 Jan 2007 23:57 GMT38
"RB" says it all, unfortunately.
TED (who isn't really evil, he's a nice Mr Clark) 'phoned me a few
minutes ago. Mrs Cat had bone cancer in her lower jaw. We decided that
he shouldn't allow her to wake up from the anaesthetic she had been
