In a listserve I participate on there is a discussion of feeding hobos
which turned into a discussion of symbols that hobos would use to mark
homes where they could get food, or not.  The symbol for a kind woman
(or kind old woman) is a cat.  Several sites mentioned show this ...

She would spend her life in my lap, licking my hands. The easiest way to get
free of her is to put her with Baby Eyes, who will pin her down and lick her
half to death.

I now have 2178 posts unread.  Purrs and prayers to all who need them that I
have missed.

I just got an email from Ginger-lynn.  She's having trouble getting to the
news group and asked me to let you all know.  She writes:

My Baby Eyes seems to think all the other cats in this house are her own
litter of kittens. A bunch of them gather into a pile around her to be
washed. When she's working on one, others will push their heads toward hers
insistently, and she will try to accommodate them all, ...

The black cat came back. I got some wet food, and started outside with
it.
Frank came out of nowhere, ran between my legs and out the door. He
chased the black cat, and it beat the crap out of him. It kept trying

Cats don't drink a lot. Lapping  up water with that little cat tongue
can't give much to drink.

We seem to have a serial killer in Britain.  He has killed 5 young
prostitutes (driven by drug addiction to work in the sex trade) in the last
few weeks.  Two bodies were found yesterday.

They're by far the cutest kittens in existence. I need support to keep from

I just came upstairs from putting the laundry on to wash, and Tessie
was lying on the back of the couch doing her patented dead-cat
impersonation. At first I thought 'oh, how cute, dead-cat trick', then
I walked into the kitchen (which usually brings her running) and she
