My Welcome Home04 Dec 2006 16:22 GMT7
Well, this time she made me wait for it, worrying when it would come, my
head resting uneasily on my pillow.  She waited all through Sunday night
thinking I would let my guard down, become complacent - then struck even
harder in vengeance last night.
A day for trapped animals03 Dec 2006 21:56 GMT6
This afternoon, as I was cleaning up some fallen branches in my front
yard, I glanced into my parked car and saw a sparrow flying about
inside the car.  I had to open two doors before the sparrow finally
found its way out.  I had used the car a couple of hours earlier, and

Who was I kidding? (on-topic)03 Dec 2006 20:48 GMT3
Yesterday I got the christmas decorations out... we're not having a
tree because Tessie would be guaranteed to destroy it, but I thought
it would be safe to put a solid plastic snowflake garland up above our
wardrobe... it looked like it was too high for even Tessie to reach so
New Poll03 Dec 2006 20:29 GMT11
Who is the alpha cat in your household?
In ours it is QC over all.
Each cat has his own field of expertise where they are the alpha expert.
Huey is in charge of Rob's bed (Huey just lets me share it).  Sonya is in

We're thinking our next vaction should be to New Zealand, proably in
December of 2007. We're just beginning to look at this possibility and are
open for any suggestions or recommendations.  Should we be looking at the
north or south island? NZ.com suggests that Queensland is the ...
Breakfast for Lunch03 Dec 2006 16:52 GMT54
Early this morning I baked an entire 12 oz. package of bacon on the rack
over my broiler pan.  400F, 10-15 minutes, watch it closely after 10
minutes.  No, I'm not planning to eat all that bacon at once! much as I love
bacon :)
The Sniff Test03 Dec 2006 01:51 GMT17
Tyche and my mom finally made friends.
My mom picked Tyche up by the scruff at 6 months of age (!!) thinking
that was an appropriate way to lift a cat.  Unsurprisingly it hurt and
Tyche snarled and hissed until she was released.  I explained to Mom
Huey's B*st*rd cat trick02 Dec 2006 22:25 GMT5
Huey woke me up at 4:25 this morning to get luvin's.  I didn't think I'd
ever get back to sleep, and I had to be up at 6:30.

Molly had a rough morning.02 Dec 2006 21:55 GMT11
Semi-resident grandson has been working for a major retail store for a few
weeks as a seasonal employee.  Unloading trucks of Christmas merchandise.
We are thrilled as while he is working, we know where  he is.  He also runs
with a marginally better crowd when he works.   And is ...
I almost forgot - more from BK's sleepover02 Dec 2006 21:47 GMT1
A few more notes from BK's sleepover the other night. I discovered
that:
Kittens do not sleep. They merely go into temporary shutdown mode,
waiting for various pouncable body parts to move.
The Window02 Dec 2006 21:32 GMT5
More specifically, The Window Behind the Dresser.
For years, this has been covered with a knitted blanket - thumbtacks
at the sides to keep it hidden from prying feline eyes. For years,
this has actually worked.

Introducing Pudding and Libby02 Dec 2006 21:21 GMT14
Lamentably late, might I add, as they've been part of the extended
family for some months already. You'll recall that my father and
stepmother were guardians to my original owner, Min (RB), when I moved
away to Hong Kong. After Min's untimely demise, and the tragic loss of
Attack Of The Doves!!!!!!!!!02 Dec 2006 21:02 GMT3
Normally, when Winter arrives, I put up my plexiglass top gate, so the
neighborhood critters can come on the front porch to get warm and sleep( I
have a heater on there as well) but the garage "swallowed" the
hinges:-(...soooo, until I could get to the hardware store...I put up a ...
