Serengeti Wildcats24 Nov 2006 23:15 GMT2
I had Animal Planet on while I was writing and they had a great show
about nocturnal predators on the Serengeti. The most on-topic animal
was the little African Wildcat. The East African variety is a close
relative of the North African Wildcat which is the most likely ancestor
Purr Request24 Nov 2006 18:13 GMT37
Mrs Cat is poorly.
11-years-old, she's been off her food, and would only lick rather than
chew. She was salivating and dribbling so much that the fur on her chin
was becoming matted.
Are your cat's names on the list?24 Nov 2006 17:07 GMT24
Hi cat-lovers,
I have a list of CAT NAMES. Here is the link:
http://www.flippyscatpage.com/catnames.html. Please check if your cat's
names are on the list, and if not you can add them.
Peace breaks out!24 Nov 2006 14:32 GMT5
You all know by now that Stinky and Dante have an uneasy peace.  They
get along, but I wouldn't call them friends.  There is usually at
least once hissing/bopping incident a day.  Stinky has never ceased to
look askance at Dante's antics.  It's no good to remind him that he
Updated from Howard B23 Nov 2006 21:11 GMT11
I've just been too busy to keep an eye on rpca, and that continues to
be the case, but I got an email from Howard a few days ago.  He asked
me to let everyone know he's still surviving:

I forgot about the Chinooks23 Nov 2006 21:08 GMT5
I knew it was too good to be true.  Shouldn't have been crowing about how
Otis is sweet, cuddly, and hibernating for the winter.
The crazy warm Chinook winds came through lastnight, melting the snow,
blowing cars and semis off the highways, and winding Otis up like a spring.

Miss Lily Whiskers is so chuffed!23 Nov 2006 20:58 GMT14
Miss Lily Whiskers is very, very chuffed. You may remember that in July
when I was packing a parcel to send to my brother in Afghanistan, Miss
Lily Whiskers dropped her favourite yellow furry mousie in the box that
was being packed. Every time I took it out, she put it back in, so I
Talked with Kili! (Christy)23 Nov 2006 20:51 GMT2
Imagine my surprise when I called her house to leave a message letting her
know how many furry felines are purring for her, and Christy answered the
phone!  I stammered, "Uh, Christy???"  I thought for a minute she hadn't
gone to Jacksonville for her tests and surgery.  Turns out ...
When is a kitten a cat?23 Nov 2006 20:47 GMT6
It's usually said that kittens become adults at one year of age, but I
think that wrong.  I think it happens when other cats start treating
them as adults.  Kittens are allowed to take all sorts of liberties
with adults that other adults are not.
We have 8 owners again23 Nov 2006 20:43 GMT31
Today, Jim (daughter Amanda's boyfriend) got a phone call over here from his
mom.  His cat, Honor, scratched his six year old nephew.  She was either
going to get Honor declawed or send her to a shelter.  After hearing Rob and
I on the subject of de-claw, there was no way Jim was ...
Kilikini Update23 Nov 2006 03:47 GMT10
Christy's surgery was pushed back from 11AM until 3PM.  Since it was a
7-hour procedure (minimum) I have no idea how she's doing.  Her husband
can't use his cell phone in the surgical wing so I'm not sure how soon or if
I can reach him for a real update.  Continued purrs appreciated ...
House Guest23 Nov 2006 02:23 GMT10
A little over a month ago, I took on a house guest.  "Tigger"
owns a friend from a summer job.
There are two issues.  First, my house guest had a few
uninvited guests:  fleas.  I've bought her a flea collar
Abelard the Hellion, Part II22 Nov 2006 20:50 GMT2
What has gotten into Abelard? That is the burning question of the day....
He's been following Lily around and trying to get her to pay attention to
him, and she's having none of it, growling and trying to hide everywhere.
She squeezes herself under the sofa as he stands with a ...
