because he's just been to TED. No, he isn't ill, but I had to go there anyway to pick up KFC's prescription diet after work so I thought why not try and get an appointment to have him microchipped at the same time? I was lucky, there was just one ten minute appointment left ...

| Goodbye, Princess | 01 Sep 2006 22:45 GMT | 17 |
Some friends of mine had to have their 19-year-old silver tabby, Princess, put to sleep yesterday. She was the only cat I have ever met who had been trained to roll over, play dead, and shake hands. My friend Rhea works only part-time due to medical problems, so he had

| UPDATE: Fake cat paws are here! | 01 Sep 2006 22:27 GMT | 1 |
Only two weeks, and they have arrived - two fake cat paws. They are orange with white paws, and pink pads. When you pull the trigger, the paw bends down and four white, nylon claws extend from the end of the paw. There is a little brass bell attached to the trigger part of the

| Traumatized Australian Shepherd | 01 Sep 2006 22:11 GMT | 4 |
You all probably remember how Otis attacked my sister's Australian Shepherd a few weeks ago. Well, today she came by with Arwen to pick up a book. She tied Arwen to the front railing and came inside for a minute. When she went to leave, Chester appeared at the door and Arwen ...

Next door have got a dog. No, not our neighbours of 25 years who feed our cats when we go away, but the other way. It seems to be a guard dog. It has a bit of fenced drive to live in most of the time, and it barks when someone appears. It is large and fairly mean looking.

| spring brushing | 01 Sep 2006 08:01 GMT | 6 |
Spring is definitely on its way here. Tyler, my hairiest cat, is shedding his winter coat as fast as he can. Yesterday I brushed him for a good 15 minutes and removed what appeared to be at least half a cat.

| My fearless kitties | 01 Sep 2006 05:10 GMT | 3 |
Last night I had to call a plumber out to fix a problem. I figured that everybody would hide when a stranger showed up at the door, but I got a surprise. Amelia had been reclining on top of the bookcase beside the front door, and when the plumber showed up she stayed there. She even

| A conversation before dinner | 01 Sep 2006 04:08 GMT | 14 |
Caliban is hungry, and he is laying on top of the cat tree making small meeping noises. Usually I meep back to him with the same small voice, but now I decided to see what he would do if I replied in a completely different voice. He said 'meep', I said 'moooww'. He said 'meep' ...

The cats were eating on the counter, where their dishes are so Bear (the d*g) can't get them. Four tiny cats (WooToo eats in lonely majesty in my room) chowing down. They can eat all day and do but they all gather in the morning when I pour sojme fresh crunchies in the bowls.
