Help! I have a question about Japanese, and I hope that either of you (or anyone else who knows the language) can answer this. I'm fixing a tech manual that was translated from Japanese to English. I don't speak Japanese at all, but my job is to make sure the English

| Basho and Issa at TED | 20 Aug 2006 22:15 GMT | 7 |
Took Basho and Issa to TED for their annual checkup this morning. They cried the whole way there and back. At TED's exam room, Basho spent most of the time on someone's shoulder, while Issa cowered around. I've never seen him be so scared at TED.

OK, yes - it's a little... different... to give names to each Bubbels color, and give them personalities. But I'm feeling just a tad *exposed* for having shared that idiosyncrasy of mine and hear back absolutely *nothing*. Was it just too bizarre for comment? Too dumb for words?

| Now a request for purrs for Sam | 20 Aug 2006 17:37 GMT | 16 |
We apparently have a cold type virus making the rounds. You'll remember that Barnabus had a watery eye and sneezing. I used eye drops that resolved his issues. Hobbes was next and I tried the eye drops on him and he got better.

| Not too old to play | 20 Aug 2006 05:41 GMT | 4 |
Rusty is sleeping a lot these days. After exercising with seniors, I decided my senior cat needs some exercises too. I dug out the old feather toy he got for Christmas from my old college room-mate. He got interested but took a while to

| School starts on Wednesday! | 20 Aug 2006 04:24 GMT | 16 |
I was able to pick up my text books for next semester on Friday. I already have the math book I need :-( , so I only needed to shell out $466 more for two literature text books, an Afro-American history book (I hope to transfer to a school that is pre-dominantly black and as ...

| (OT & LONG) Day 1 of Volunteering as a counsellor for Animal Adventure Camp | 20 Aug 2006 03:53 GMT | 2 |
As most of you already know, I volunteer at the Monroe County Humane Association (a.k.a. MCHA, http://www.monroehumane.org & http://www.myspace.com/mcha1), mostly doing office work, but occasionally I help at events, like their booth at the county fair, or their annual Walk

| I wasn't dreaming | 20 Aug 2006 01:29 GMT | 17 |
The other morning before dawn I thought I heard Rusty's voice. But that couldn't be. He sleeps in his own room with the door closed. It is one of the few doors he can't open. His room is at the other end and I shouldn't be able to

| Went to the pool | 20 Aug 2006 00:32 GMT | 2 |
Persia climbed along the edge of the shower with me after I went to the pool... it's another 100 degree day here and I took a dip at at the apartment pool, then took a cool shower. It's hotter than Hades here in west Tennessee so I took a nice cool shower. Persia hates water but ...

| Errand Cats | 19 Aug 2006 18:34 GMT | 5 |
The street where I periodically do some special errands is pleasingly populated with shop cats, so I get to visit with them. The first is Mr. Tea, who lives in the Leaf and Bean coffee shop (not a cafe, but a store where you buy coffees and teas). Mr. Tea is a small white

| She yodels! | 19 Aug 2006 17:23 GMT | 11 |
Miranda just yodelled! She has been very talkative the last few days. Usually she has a very varied repertoire of meaows, mrows, mrooos, mah-mah-mahs etc. But this was the first time she went into a falsetto yodel. It was like Meow-meow-meow-YODEL-meow-meow-meow-YODEL! I wish I

.........and the cats are not impressed. It was an attempt to get them, Mayhem in particular, to eat some to act as a laxative. Mayhem is prone to hairballs and that last thing i need is a gastric obstruction. *sigh*
