Etymology question18 Aug 2006 14:34 GMT6
Where does the term "Pan Crocking" come from? I can't find it in Wikipedia
or Google, but we used it all the time as kids. Perhaps I've got it spelled
incorrectly. My best guess would be that it comes from a cooking term? It
means impatient or hurried BTW, at least that's the way ...
belly rubs w/sound effects18 Aug 2006 06:35 GMT8
My little tuxie guy, Gabriel loves belly rubs! He will get a case of
'jelly' legs when I walk by, so I just have to give him some rubs. He
chirps and trills all the time I am rubbing that beautiful white belly
of his. Does anyone else have a cat that does that? The rest of my

Frogs?!?!18 Aug 2006 04:06 GMT1
Today was my first day off after working 5 days straight.  With Dennis
away too, Vino didn't have much company during the days lately.  So
today he was super duper affectionate.  I must have gotten up a hundred
times to let him in and out of the back yard.  It was a cold and ...

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and purrs and hugs and candles.
Someone sent an email to Hazelaz and she called me just as we were
leaving the vet. Thank you to whoever did that, it was nice having her
call.  It helps so much to know that you are here and that you remember
New Truck18 Aug 2006 01:48 GMT5
Several years ago a neighbor's son stopped by my garage one afternoon
and asked if I could help out with a
problem he was having with his "new" truck, a 1972 Chevy half ton, 4x4.
I asked him what the problem was and he told me he had been out playing

Speaking of the Red Dot!17 Aug 2006 14:14 GMT1
I was playing with Persia with her laser pointer (the keychain type like
Lesley won and MMJ has).  The batteries ran out!  The dot got progressively
less dot-like and finally it didn't do anything!  Persia was on the back of
the couch, pawing at it at the time.  I quickly donned my ...

Dogs in Elk, in Pumpkin17 Aug 2006 04:53 GMT2
You've all read, laughed, and wept at the Dogs in Elk story.
But have you seen the latest re-interpretation of the tale,
"Dogs in Elk in Vegetables"? (Pumpkins, to be exact.) It's the
familiar story, as illustrated with pumpkins.
Aaaaargh - brain imposion17 Aug 2006 04:19 GMT16
When is one of the best times to study? When you are laid off, and
need a break from job-hunting, I suppose.
But I think I've been overdoing on the studying as well - ASP.NET,
ADO.NET, PHP 5, a little catch up on my perl and Excel VBA, with a
Sam17 Aug 2006 04:15 GMT42
As I think I mentioned in another thread, I have taken in a youngish
black cat I think I will call Sam. He had at least three names from the
neighbourhood he was roaming before. I can't believe he didn't have a
home since he is such an affectionate cat, but he's been roaming ...
