stupid + raspberries24 Jul 2006 04:44 GMT9
Good news: Went on a hike with DH.  Had a lovely conversation with a
presumably retired couple at the top of the climb.  A fair portion of
the trail had raspberry bushes.  Raspberries in the wild are smaller
than the supermarket variety, but extremely yummy and much more fun
Prevent The Cruelty23 Jul 2006 22:27 GMT4
Please excuse this offtopic post but I am trying to spread awareness of
atrocities being commited to animals.  If you love animals as I do,
please help prevent the cruelty by boycotting IAMS and EUKANUBA
products for their inhumane treatment of animals.  Please spread the
Abelard's New Residence23 Jul 2006 15:53 GMT3
I'm learning how to stop his barfing. The key seems to be to give him a bit
less food than he wants. Take it away while he's still very interested in
eating. This involves taking him into the bathroom, shutting out the other
cats, and waiting while he eats, then taking the food ...
The Story of WooToo, So Far23 Jul 2006 08:05 GMT14
WooToo is my Mom's cat. Mom became a cat person rather late in life and
had two Persians, Woo and Yoda. She paid a lot of money for Woo and got
her sister Yoda for free because Yoda looked funny and they were going
to have her put away. Yoda didn't live a normal lifespan but she had ...
My friend has a cat question23 Jul 2006 04:36 GMT26
If any of you have any ideas, she'd be most grateful.  Here is her e-mail to
me:
We are about to move to Iowa from north of Seattle, about 2000 miles
or minimum 3 1/2 days of driving. We are driving a car and a van and
Sick of these vets23 Jul 2006 00:39 GMT25
Abelard is still barfing more than normal, so I called the vet he saw
before. He was not in (his mom had a stroke - little wonder, she must be
around 100 years old) but spoke with assistant. She said he probably needs
more antibiotics, and I should call tomorrow. So I called the ...
Tales from the Mouser: Island Shore leave 2006 Part IV22 Jul 2006 23:45 GMT10
Cap'n Pine Cone took a deep breath.  He took in the sea air and then
the odor of delicious food.
"That smells wonderful Persia."  he said, "What are you making?"
Persia stopped stirring the immense kettle.  She took out the spoon and
Third time lucky purrs needed22 Jul 2006 23:42 GMT12
A while back I mentioned this place where I've had 2 job interviews and
been turned down both times. I also mentioned that there was a third
job there that was the one I really wanted and I was hoping for a case
of "third time lucky".
The Cruising Cats Need Some Purrs Please22 Jul 2006 20:00 GMT20
Annie, Jim, and the Cruising cats are stuck at South Myrtle Beach, South
Carolina, while the GENESIS is being worked on.  The generator is down
and is giving them fits.  As you know, the generator is what keeps the
electrical parts of the ship, including AC, going while the ship ...
Two-faced Kitten Born in Ohio22 Jul 2006 19:32 GMT9
http://www.nbc10.com/health/9515335/detail.html
This kitten was born on July 12th in Ohio, USA.  The vets seem to think
he/she will survive (isn't that a rare occurrence for these mutations?).  I
haven't been able to find any further updates about the kitten since this
How hot was it?22 Jul 2006 19:02 GMT45
It was so hot last night, that ALL NINE CATS willingly followed me
into the only air-conditioned room, promptly flopped down on the bed
and floor and napped.  And so did I.

paw licking -- urgent?22 Jul 2006 18:58 GMT47
I noticed Oscar licking one of her hind paws a few days ago, but just
thought it was kind of cute.  Until DH pointed out last night that
it's new behavior and might indicate an injury.  And that's when I
remembered that I'd stepped on her a few days ago.
Blanket purrs and a purr request22 Jul 2006 18:48 GMT21
First, blanket purrs to anyone who requested them yesterday.  Although I was
on line for a while, I was off after that, and had to mark everything read.
I got a new computer, and once I set it up to receive newsgroups (one of the
first things I did <G>), I couldn't sort through ...
Not really OT: Keep cool in the UK!22 Jul 2006 18:16 GMT26
FWIW, my car's thermometer indicated 40C yesterday on the drive home at
6pm. :(

Remember that Pyramid Bed?22 Jul 2006 17:20 GMT23
How many months ago did I order that soft, cushy pyramid shaped bed for
Persia?  The little stinker *finally* decided to get into it tonight!!!
