Today DH and I visited a friend for lunch - going to her apartment for
the first time.  This meant that we were priveliged to meet her two
felines - Boris and Amy.
Boris is an enormous DLH orange stripey boy who is very shy and rather
HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!02 Jul 2006 15:14 GMT12
Happy Canada Day to all Canadian catslaves and readers of this newsgroup
from a former (-84-88) employee at the Canadian Embassy in Helsinki,
Finland (now living in Vantaa, right north of Helsinki).
Pet tracking collars02 Jul 2006 15:13 GMT12
After hearing Smudge's story, and its wonderful conclusion, I was
wondering if people had any opinions about pet tracking collars.  I've
noted at least two:

If any of you notice02 Jul 2006 03:02 GMT27
A post on here that hasn't been replied to for a week at all please find
time to say a little something.
It is so mortifying to have no reply especially for a newbie.

Nice clean sheets01 Jul 2006 22:08 GMT6
I stripped the bed this morning and washed the sheets.  While that was going
on, I got the other set of sheets out of the closet and put them on the bed.
She was snoozing in the closet so she didn't notice this until an hour or so
ago.
THANK YOU EVERYONE01 Jul 2006 21:51 GMT4
Thank you everyone for being supportive in my sort of crisis with Rumble.
I am so glad I have this other family I can turn to in a time of need.
I am sorry I haven't been there for everyone else.  A blanket purr and hug
for all those you need it.  And thank you for all of this ...
Mean ducks!01 Jul 2006 21:38 GMT4
Our downstairs neighbours asked me to feed their cat for a week so of
course I said I would... Lola is a little sweety and the only time you
see much of her is if you're the person feeding her - she's an
indoor-outdoor semi-feral and when they go away she has to live
Three Spays and a Neuter - I am so evil!01 Jul 2006 21:31 GMT14
I finally managed to get our local family of ferals off the the vet -
Mrs. Wiggleworm, her daughter, and the daughter's two kittens.
They have been boarded since Wednesday, and I pick them next
Wednesday.
If we had a pin ...01 Jul 2006 21:05 GMT14
If we had a RPCA pin - one like John E. writes about. What would it look
like?
I think it should be a meatloafing cat - and many meatloafing cats behind
it. And all of them different cat colours.
Heartworm prevention01 Jul 2006 20:52 GMT7
Just a reminder:  This is prime mosquito season, and cats *can* get
heartworms (with deadly results).  I live in East Texas, so my twosome get
Heartgard all 12 months, whereas those in northern areas probably need it
only for certain months of the year (ask your vet).  I always ...
Spider Hunt Update01 Jul 2006 20:20 GMT6
So much for fiddlebacks.
I put sticky traps all over the place; Opened up every hidey hole I could
think of.
No spiders. No scorpions. Not one stinking cockroach! (Well that much is
Irish Drinking songs for cat lovers01 Jul 2006 08:08 GMT1

Here's an excerpt (I love the purrlude most of all):
I'll Tell My Cat (parody of I'll Tell My Ma)

Rhett scared me01 Jul 2006 04:35 GMT8
I've written about the very unstable screens in my windows. (soon
after I bought this house, Shadow landed outside twice because of
pushing the screens out). I bought these adjustable screen things
that fit in between a set of grooves in the window frame, and so
Purrs for Killini and a challenge01 Jul 2006 03:45 GMT6
First of all I want her to know we are still purring away.  The lumps are
what they are for better or worse.  But I'd be out of my mind trying not to
worry while waiting a week for the results.  So purrs for peace and calm and
plenty of nice distractions.
Cruising cats: purr request01 Jul 2006 02:13 GMT15
Do you have some spare purrs for Rosie & Cinder?
Friday morning Rosie and Cinder will start shore leave at TED's place.
Cinder needs her teeth cleaned. Rosie will get updated vaccinations.  Both
will stay as boarders until Wednesday.
