Cruising cats: Cinder TED check update10 Jun 2006 23:05 GMT3
This morning Cinder's shore leave consisted of a trip to TED for a check up,
vaccinations, pre-dental blood test and nail clipping.
We don't remember that she has ever had a blood test.  If so, it would have
been years ago, so we hoped that she wouldn't struggle or cause any
Cats and More Cats10 Jun 2006 22:45 GMT3
I have been filling in for another board member who is on vacation, and
so going to the shelter much more often than usual.
I have been really struck and dismayed by the influx of cats/kittens
this "kitten season."
I need three more cats10 Jun 2006 22:29 GMT9
I need three more cats like I need a toothache, so guess what I'm
picking up Friday after work.  Well, kittens actually - nine-week old
red tabby kittens: two males and one female.  The mother is also red
tabby, rather large, well disposed, and pretty.

IF I DIDN'T HAVE PETS...10 Jun 2006 21:48 GMT3
IF I DIDN'T HAVE PETS...
I could walk around the yard barefoot in safety.
My house could be carpeted instead of tiled and laminated.
All flat surfaces, clothing, furniture, and cars would be free of
Ping Cheryl, Phil and others - regarding Granuloma, skin and fleas10 Jun 2006 21:44 GMT4
Cheryl (Phil and others) -
You've answered some of my questions before regarding skin lesions on the
hind leg.  Now my mom's cat also has scabs at the base of her ears and one
on her face, in addition to small ones on the hind legs.  She also chewed a
Roxie purrs please!!!10 Jun 2006 20:02 GMT19
It seems my sense of foreboding has proven itself correct...
We check the kids for tooth and gum trouble since the Brandy scare last year.
I discovered that Roxie not only has a loose tooth, but one that's literally
hanging there! I'm beside-myself nuts, but Louie's worse, blaming ...

It's Not Time Yet!10 Jun 2006 17:05 GMT5
Persiakeeps trying to get me to give her more cat food.  She's yowling and
meowing at me.  Food, please?  No, it's not time yet!  I'm getting yowled
at, tapped on the side and stared at.  Yawned at and peered at with big
green eyes.  NO!  It's not *time yet* you goofy cat! :)
Spotted on bike ride10 Jun 2006 16:50 GMT6
This evening, Vernon & I went for a pootle around the lanes, stopping off at
a pub for a bite to eat on the way home. On our quite lovely evening
journey, we passed a lovely ginger cat curled up having a snooze on a patch
of wheat at the corner of a wheat field. As we cycled by, ...
Winter Shoes10 Jun 2006 16:39 GMT5
I was delighted with my new lightweight winter shoes.   They were
comfortable and the tops were made of some sort of durable, black plastic.
I was upset when I saw the damage to the toes of them - I couldn't remember
walking through a blackberry patch but that is the sort of ...
Bike Cats and Fishy Cats10 Jun 2006 12:13 GMT2
One thing that's enjoyable about running errands, is meeting business
cats. ;)  There are a few regulars I often see, like The Stripey Boys
in the copy shop, Mr. Tea in the coffee shop, and until recently,
Reggie, the Giant Orange Smurgler-- recently retired to private life,
