Just curious, from a military point of view, what is the difference between
tactical and strategic (the dictionary doesn't really give a distinction and
I'm reading a novel with combat scenes that would be clearer if I knew the
answer to this).
Vet Tech Journals: Graduation Day14 Jun 2006 23:50 GMT10
Well it's official now, today i graduated from Pierce College with an
Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology.
The whole morning was ironic, since Saturday was very bad for me.  Long
story, but there's a slight conflict between me and another co-worker
I love the feel of wet nose-leather in the morning14 Jun 2006 22:37 GMT7
...particularly when Smokey puts his drippy nose in my ear at 10 after
5 this morning.
Eff off, Smokey.  What have I told you about the alarm clock?  When the
alarm goes off, I feed you.  That's in another hour and 35 minutes,
Chocky Update14 Jun 2006 21:44 GMT9
The visit went well and no blood was drawn except mine when I put
Chocky in the carrier. The vet couldn't feel anything obvious, no
grating when she manipulated Chockys leg, no lumps or bumps that
shouldn't be there. Chocky allowed herself to be weighed....5.8kgs

What's her problem?/The little MINX!!!!!14 Jun 2006 21:21 GMT3
Hi folks, this is Mischief, and i'd like to file a complaint.
Meowmie came home LATE to feed us dinner.  After munching a bit and
then having a wash, I noticed something.  The DOOR to to the OUT wasn't
shut.  So I thought i'd shut the door for Meowmie.  HONEST, i pawed at
TED visit for Chocky14 Jun 2006 17:27 GMT6
We're taking Chocky to see TED in the morning and I'm a bit nervous
after PB's diagnosis and subsequent demise.
Chocky is, for want of a better word, rotund and waddles rather than
walks but this week she seemed to be favouring one of her front legs
Daddy Tortured Her!14 Jun 2006 16:15 GMT26
I don't ever do anything to Sammy that she objects to.  She's 18 pounds of
pure muscle and I'd prudently use a tranquilizer dart gun first.
But DH is braver than I.
He decided that Sammy was shedding too much so he got out the slicker brush.
NOW?!14 Jun 2006 12:58 GMT15
I swear, Persia learns new words every day!  She understands, "It's not time
yet" so she's figured out how to ask, "NOW?"  It's 30 minutes to dinner time
you goofy little girl.  You are a fluffy cat.  Wheesht yer mooth and quit
yer blethering :)
Mad Odessa14 Jun 2006 03:44 GMT3
As I have said before, nothing hides better than a black cat, and did
she ever! We spent over an hour seeking, chasing, and cornering Odessa
for her exam at the vet's. While we call her one of the Ladies for her
ordinarily demure demeanor, get her mad and her language could make a
A last trip14 Jun 2006 00:31 GMT33
Last Saturday started like most mornings, with Betty curled up under
the covers and using my right arm as a pillow.  Where Betty had rested
her head, my pajamas were wet.  Much of Betty's jaw was missing, so
she always drooled and bled on me.  I scritched Betty absentmindedly
Whoa....13 Jun 2006 23:19 GMT7
This morning I had the strangest dream of my life to date. It was mostly
about animals, and cats in particular.
As the curtain opens, I find a baby bird, mostly white in the upper body and
head, with greyish-brown on the wings, tail and legs, and it has a
New Bubbels?13 Jun 2006 22:16 GMT5
Now there's a Bubbels1, Bubbels2 and so on, up to Bubbels5.  I still
like the original.

Crinkly froggy song13 Jun 2006 18:31 GMT4
Dante has a crinkly toy froggy that he adores beating the crap out of.
Right now he's carrying it around, singing to it-- crinkle crinkle

Where is she?!13 Jun 2006 17:38 GMT6
Persia is still settling down from when I picked her up yesterday morning
after being boarded.  So this morning I'm in bed and I could feel her
touching my nose to wake me up (why the heck she started doing that I don't
know, but it's cute!).  And I could hear her purring, but I ...
