Dog in a cat suit08 May 2006 03:43 GMT6
Recently, I've been taking walks with Smudge around my neighborhood.
She follows me all over the place, without a leash. Of course, being
a cat, she has to take little side trips into people's yards, to check
out their gardens and driveways. I'll just keep walking.

During this leg of our journey, we covered 207 miles in 26 hours. We changed

I've just been out to feed, Shadow, and for the first time ever, I've
touched him. I gave him a little stroke on the top of his head, he stiffened
but didn't run away, maybe soon he'll actually enjoy it. This is a cat that
last year would run away if he saw me looking at him out of ...
OMG, I'm finally online!08 May 2006 01:02 GMT29
Just a really short note to say that I'm finally online again!  I've
been here for over 3 weeks and signed up for my phone line and internet
right away, but it took until yesterday for it all to be done.  I think
it's because we're living in such a small town 3 hours from Purrth.

City Utilities was here.07 May 2006 23:58 GMT31
I phoned this morning and got a secretary who has no clue what a kilowatt
hour is. She sent a guy over with a truck and I explained to him that I
don't have a furnace that uses electricity, don't have an electric stove or
dishwasher, don't even own a portable electric heater, ...
Thank you for putting up with my crazy writing...07 May 2006 22:46 GMT13
...and I just wanted to let you know that every cat is a Great Cat!
A morning too exciting ...07 May 2006 22:45 GMT19
So I'm sitting at the kitchen table this morning, finishing up my
cereal and reading a book.
I hear some rustling and look up.
I recently bought a "husband" -- one of those chair-shaped things you
My Poor Frightened Kitties!07 May 2006 21:38 GMT14
Man, what a mess we have here!  They are "improving" our subdivision by
laying new drainage pipes - they say we're more liable to flood now that
they have torn down all the woods surrounding our neighborhood in order to
build a bunch of cookie-cutter houses,* even though we ...

Well, it was a year ago today that I went newt-spotting.  Our fishpond
seemed to be brimming with the things, and I spent more time than was
strictly necessary just gazing into its depths, watching the little things
swim around happily.  Sadly, I've not seen any this year.
Cat-sitting - long07 May 2006 19:48 GMT7
Just checking in briefly to relate a recent experience. Purrs and best
wishes to all.
My sister went abroad for a few days, and Mum and I took turns looking
after her cats, Linus and Ronja (some old pictures at
The horror of Lapnox07 May 2006 19:30 GMT14
I've been absent for a few weeks in Ontario.  Purrs to those who need
them...
...and spare some purrs for me because I have a Lapnox.

Odd dream (Not OT)07 May 2006 19:21 GMT9
I went to bed on Friday night okay that's not so unusual I go to bed
most nights (unless I fall asleep in the chair because a cat's chosen
to sleep on me- you don't think I DARE move and wake them up do you?)
and dozed off
Tales of the Mouser: Qui Gun's Toy Adventure07 May 2006 19:07 GMT3
It was terrible. Everytime Qui Gun Kit got even close to Cap'n Pine
Cone's cabin, someone was there. Either Huey was sitting there cleaning
his paw, or Sammy was laying on his back and talking to the fat wench.
One time, Cap'n Pine Cone himself was standing there talking to ...

I guess when it rains, it really does pour.
The transmission went out on DH's truck. Thirty days later it "threw a
rod" which I don't understand but assume it's bad. So we decided we
better get rid of it, and though neither one of us wanted to take on a
