Cats vs Plants...09 Feb 2006 02:40 GMT2
For those interested, this week's Housecat Wisdom is a ever-cynical
feline look at yet another unusual titbit of scientific news.  Feel
free to read Fleas' purrsonal opinion of the science of screaming
plants!  I hope you enjoy it!
Cute cat photos08 Feb 2006 22:48 GMT2
My mother demanded I upload some more cat photos to webshots (funny -
I thought she didn't like cats :P so here's a selection for January :)
Cat Burglar - Silly has never shown much interest in paper products,
but when we were painting there was a small roll of paper towel lying
Hooooray for Dallas!08 Feb 2006 22:44 GMT10
I read in the news this morning that the Dallas RSPCA will OFFICIALLY
no longer euthanize healthy cats.
Yay, Dallas!

Purrs for Swollen Post-Spaying Rhia please08 Feb 2006 22:37 GMT14
Purrs please for my poor little Siamese 'baby' Rhia who was spayed
about 10 days ago and went back to the vet today for the stiches to be
removed. The vet said she was too swollen around the wound site and
needed to be kept quiet for a few more days (have you every tried to

Oh, so cute!!! I've got a large mound of fluffy orange and white cats
blocking the hall way...snooze time!! I dropped 2 of the boys at the RSPCA
over the weekend (with a non euthanasia sticker of course) to see if they
could help with re-homing, but they had 25 kittens dumped the ...
Purrs for evacuees08 Feb 2006 19:20 GMT12
There's a big fire burning in the Orange County, California hills. It's
not threatening us here in Highland; the only effect it's had has been
closing the toll road I take home and making me take a long detour.
However, there is a mandatory evacuation order in effect for 1500
Second First cat??08 Feb 2006 19:12 GMT2
Well, after living in happy unison with several independant cats since my
First Cat (RB Cleo), it seems one of my cats has decided to step into my
First Cat's fluffy tortie shoes. And, like most first cats, he decided the
moment he set eyes on me. I took a little while to get ...
Little Piglet! (cat)08 Feb 2006 17:20 GMT1
I mean Persia, of course!  She tapped me awake because, of course, she's
starving to death.  I'm so cruel to her ;)  So I gave her a scoop of her
food.
Then she sees me with the milk jug.  Oh NO!  She starts telling me in her
Pics: new catbed, playing in the enclosure08 Feb 2006 07:55 GMT13
Since the ringworm test was clean last month, I brought home the catbed
my niece gave me for Yule. I put it in the sauna, since that's where
Miranda has mostly been sleeping lately. Caliban was the first to try it
out.
Sad News -- Magic has gone to The Bridge08 Feb 2006 04:40 GMT14
I posted a little bit back about my friend KK's cat, Magic, who was
diagnosed with lymphoma.  KK e-mailed me the following today:
Hi Ginger-lyn,
Just wanted you to know - I took Magic in to Dr. Logue this AM
Typing Around Nina08 Feb 2006 04:38 GMT1
I was gone most of yesterday, and now Nina is telling me I need to pay
attention to HER in no uncertain terms.  She has seated herself like a
furry boulder between me and my keyboard, and keeps patting my arm, or
nudging me with her little muzzle as she purrs insistently for
Kitty Road Trip07 Feb 2006 23:00 GMT2
Well, I'm off first thing in the morning on a 7 hr drive.  Pick up a load of
my lady's stuff & her feline lifeform, Sage.  Cat (yup, that's my lady's
name) tells me that sage is a good car traveller... Which is nice.  I'm
still nervous about my hoolikittens response.... back in a ...
Kitty AIDS (FIV)07 Feb 2006 22:59 GMT10
I wonder how many cat owners are getting the AIDS vaccine for their
cats?
From what I understand, it was developed here at the University of
California, Davis and has been used for several years in Australia, but
Grim realisation07 Feb 2006 21:50 GMT20
Yesterday Otis had me in stitches, he was dragging his bum along the
floorboards, presumably scratching it.  I immediately checked for
worms, and having found none, assume he just needed to scratch (well
who doesn't from time to time).
