Hobbes might have diabetes04 Jan 2006 18:20 GMT16
Hobbes and Selena went in yesterday for annual vacs. We're going to a new
vet office that I really like. The vet asked if any of my cats went outside
or if we foster cats. When I told her no she recommended that we not give
feline leuk and distemper shots this year. I've never ...
Funny cat mentioned in a novel:04 Jan 2006 06:41 GMT34
Recently listened (on my iPod) to Dean Koontz' Frankenstein, Book 2 (for
those of you who've not read it, it seems that Dr. Frankenstein has survived
all these 200+/-years, and is still creating his monsters, and has changed
his name to Victor Helious.  Also his original monster ...
Rubbles go for their shots~04 Jan 2006 06:22 GMT13
At 3pm Eastern, Bam-Bam, Barney & Betty go in for their booster shots,
rabies shots (state law) and will have their spay/neuter ops scheduled.
Betty likes to play hide-n-seek whenever it's time to go into the crate at
night (they are such good kitties, normally settling down ...
Duffy-in-a-sunbeam04 Jan 2006 05:16 GMT2
Duffy loves sunbeams.  Actually, most cats do, but Duffy will roll and play
for several minutes -- almost dance -- and then finally curl up for a nice
nap. I just posted 3 photos in alt.binaries.pictures.animals that show Duffy
playing in "his" sunbeam.
Vet question04 Jan 2006 04:59 GMT7
Hi, all,
I hope you don't mind a newbie asking questions.  My cat has a UTI and
the vet gave me 250 mg Amoxicillin tabs.  That sounds like *way* too
much, and I'm afraid to give it to him.

Dec.22 was the 5th anniversary of the loss of
"Fission". She was the best cat anyone could
ever hope to live with. Smart, well behaved,
Dental work04 Jan 2006 03:14 GMT11
On Wednesday Will will be having at least one tooth extracted.
Another kitty from the Yahoo inhaled meds group I belong to will
be having teeth extracted that same day.  So Wednesday will be a
good time for purrs with "teeth" in them.
Pilling Envy!04 Jan 2006 01:35 GMT5
I told my daughter I have pilling envy.  The last time I had to give Jessie
a pill, it took me, DH, and my daughter Erin to (try to) hold her.  We put
the (tiny) pill in her throat about 27 times and she spit it out 27 times
until the pill was soggy and dripping off our fingers ...
***KFW***Videos Uploaded (Thanks Pat!)04 Jan 2006 00:52 GMT10
They are large files, and may take a while to load, and are in .avi format
(on my computer, Windows Media Player works, but when viewing them online,
QuickTime took over).  File sizes are large, and the video window is small,
but it seems to be high quality.
Life Saving Cat?04 Jan 2006 00:51 GMT1
I just saw this in the Yahoo! Canada "Say What?!?" section, which is
essentially bizarre news stories. The URL for Yahoo Canada is
http://ca.yahoo.com/.
Does anyone know if there are any _documented_ cases of cats making phone
Cats are like Teenagers 04 Jan 2006 00:23 GMT1
The similarities between cats and human teenagers
For all of you with teenagers or who had teenagers, you may want to know why
they really have a lot in common with cats:
1. Neither teenagers nor cats turn their heads when you call them by name.
Spare Purrs Please03 Jan 2006 23:55 GMT70
I don't feel safe enough here any more (due to my stalker) to post why, but
I'm dealing with a *bad* bout of depression this morning.  Any spare purrs
you might have would be greatly appreciated.
Hugs,
THANK YOU!03 Jan 2006 23:04 GMT1
A very sincere thank you for the beautiful cards I received this year!
You touched my heart!
I have been very busy writing.  First book is under consideration,
second is ready to go and I am working on the third  --  about cats!

Talking to my folks over the holiday, it seems that things could change
radically this year for my dad. He may be asked to leave Washington DC
earlier than he origionally thought (which was Oct 2006) so that his job
skills can be used back in Europe by his employer. He is no longer
