Jet - the inevitable30 Jan 2006 12:24 GMT13
Well, the inevitable has happened.  We managed to hold out for a whole
week, but DH admitted this morning that he really, really likes Potjie
/ Jet and that if he doesn't work out at Dad's place then DH will be
very happy for him to come back here to live.
The beginning of a beautiful friendship30 Jan 2006 08:03 GMT2
As you all know, our Border Collie puppy Kayla has been here for almost two
months now.
Jake and Molly have pretty much made their peace with her.  Molly will even
come and get Kayla to come outside and chase her.  I thought Kayla was
Upset kitty30 Jan 2006 07:37 GMT11
My 6 mos old little boy cat, Jacob, is not speaking to me tonight. He
won't come to me, and is reluctant to purr for me. On the other hand,
he has stuck to my hubby like glue! I think he is mad at me for taking
him to the vets today for his big snip....
New family member - update #230 Jan 2006 03:45 GMT2
Well, it's been nearly a week, now.  We still have an uneasy
truce, with an occasional "shouting match", but neither one
seems seriously intent upon damaging the other, so I'm sure
they'll work it out in time.
I've become accustomed to his face30 Jan 2006 02:44 GMT4
When I was young, my family had a cat. His name was 'Snoopy' and he was an
outdoor cat. Even when my sister & had grown up and moved out, indeed, got
cats of our own, Snoopy was still at my parents place, and you could see his
outine through the 'privacy' glass doors, waiting ...
Getting Sasha to eat30 Jan 2006 02:04 GMT2
Sasha is doing well and he blood work on Thursday showed her BUN to be
down to 53. Dr and I both were very happy to see that. He reduced her
fluids to 100ml every other day and after this bag is finished I am
bringing her in for another test to see how she did with the lower
Dessert in a glass29 Jan 2006 12:45 GMT11
Last night we had dinner at a nice mediterranean/spanish restaurant we
like. It was wonderful, and thanks to the fact that we got there early,
we enjoyed the half price tapas during happy hour. :)
Anyhow, they have this wonderful dessert cocktail, made with espresso,
Waffles improves29 Jan 2006 11:34 GMT14
Waffles is *definitely* improving.
Today is a sunny, bright but cold day. Nevertheless, Queen Of All She
Surveys has been demanding to be Inna Owt.
This morning she went out into the garden, sat in the middle of the lawn and
That'll teach me29 Jan 2006 11:29 GMT29
We went to a new (to us) pub this evening, and there was a beautiful
little tabby pub cat called Tigger doing the rounds.  She came and said
hello to DH then perched herself on my lap for a cuddle, which she
seemed to enjoy, then she rolled on to her back so I tickled her tummy,
Purrs of thanks!29 Jan 2006 06:06 GMT30
Thirteen months after we got married, and almost six YEARS after we
were engaged, I got my greencard! Now I can come and go as I please
and they'll have to let me back into the country! Of course the first
words out of my mother's mouth when I told her were 'when are you
Baby-love attack29 Jan 2006 05:07 GMT10
Caliban is a fairly typical teenage cat, who is far more interested in
thinking up mischief and annoying the hoomin than he is of cuddles and
huggles. Every now and then, though, I'm subjected to what I've started
calling the baby-love attack.
Cats intimidated by mole?28 Jan 2006 17:54 GMT8
I found a mole (?) running around in the house, and my 3 cats saw it but were not
interested in pursuing it and attacking it like they did in the
past with mice, bunnies, chipmunks. I had to pick it up and throw
it out myself. I wonder if the cats were afraid of it. Isnt it unusual
Scouty the Brave!28 Jan 2006 11:08 GMT1
Since we moved my computer desk into the craft room and put the
printer onto it, there isn't any room for Scouty to sit in front of me
while I type  - she used to love to lie behind the keyboard and
supervise me... she's realised that the scanner can still be
How long to leave cat28 Jan 2006 05:37 GMT17
My lady doesn't want my cat, Bert, to visit - 'he'll destroy my...' So
I leave him.
For how many days/nights is that fair/ok?
Studio apt. Plenty food//water.
