aaawAAWWWWWW--- Freakout!31 Jan 2006 17:21 GMT5
Guess what, guys, I got a Roomba!  You know, the robotic vacuum
cleaner.  It sure is cute as it zips around the room, bouncing off
stuff.  But someone here doesn't agree.  We've got one thoroughly
freaked-out kitten here. ;)
My niece visited (not OT)31 Jan 2006 02:17 GMT16
And she took some pictures (she didn't think hey were good, because she
had to use the flash, but I think they're so much better than any of mine).

Bad Luna!31 Jan 2006 02:16 GMT3
We had friends over for dinner tonight and I made vietnamese shrimp
rolls (not the fried kind) and sushi. We put the kids up a few hours
before our friends were to arrive, because all three of our friends
coming are allergic to cats. We vacuumed and sprayed with anti-allergen
Urgent: Aerial Gunning of Wolves Likely to Continue Despite Court Order31 Jan 2006 02:09 GMT3
A state judge recently ruled that the state of Alaska's regulations, upon
which their aerial gunning program is based, were illegal, giving wolves a
temporary reprieve. The Alaska Board of Game immediately scheduled an
emergency meeting to address the deficiencies the court found ...

I just went out to see the visitor, I think I'll call him Shadow, the bed I
gave him is the igloo type which he had been sleeping _in_, today he's
decided to squash it down and sleep on top. I just took this picture of him.

Update on my Dad (OT)30 Jan 2006 20:21 GMT5
[separately posted to rfc]
He told me this morning the two chemo-like treatments he's had are not the
end of it.  He has an appointment on Feb. 2 to meet with his doctor, have
another CAT scan and they will schedule more treatments after that.  He's in
Are Rainbow bridge  kitties  feral?30 Jan 2006 19:02 GMT3
Do they revert to feral when they go to the bridge?
The neighborhood strays30 Jan 2006 18:24 GMT8
I've mentioned before that we've got two strays that some to our place for
food. One of them (Shorty) is very shy and has never come closer than 20
feet. The other, Cali, started out that way but has since grown
comfortable with us. She's a beautiful calico longhair.

Your Cat's Rockstar Name30 Jan 2006 16:09 GMT22
If your cat were named after a musician or group, what would their name
be and why?
1.  Tyche wants to be the Notorious F.A.T.  Like the Notorious B.I.G.,
she is overweight and foul mouthed...but he probably had better rap
They really talk30 Jan 2006 16:07 GMT13
Tinùviel and Teti, my two indoor Devon Rex cats, are the world's best
friends, I think. Of course they fight and chase eachother from time to
time, sometimes it looks very serious, but... After a while they get a bit
tired, and one of them will go up to the other and sort of say: ...
Bringing out the inner cat30 Jan 2006 16:03 GMT8
It's good to bring out the inner cat in my cat.
Seated at the table, I sensed my cat wished to communicate. She had
food in her dishes but was not eating. A sign that communication is now
possible. A channel has opened up. She is giving me obtuse signals,
The Giant Cat Hammock30 Jan 2006 15:56 GMT4
Today DH hung his grandmother's quilting frame in the den for me. It is
a wooden frame, suspended from the ceiling with twine, and holds a
full-sized quilt.
This is going to be very interesting. You know the cats will be all
