[UPDATE] on purrs for friend's cat13 Dec 2005 22:40 GMT2
You guys are the best!  Both Adoph and Magic seem to be recovering.
KK went to another vet and got a second opinion, and the meds that vet
prescribed were apparently what they needed.  He believes they
have/had an intestinal infection, with the walls of the intestines
Why do Pets Get Pet Health Insurance?13 Dec 2005 18:32 GMT1
Why do Pets Get Health Insurance? Maybe they live dangerous lives?
You'll all agree that, today, pets are becoming more like humans.
Pets get insurance, go see doctors on a regular basis, eat out, get
gifts, clothing, etc.
I must be crazy...13 Dec 2005 16:44 GMT4
Here I am, late in the evening (my watch tells me it is late at night, but I
prefer evening), planning my trip to Copenhagen tomorrow (or later this
morning). I will be gone for about 65 hours, and I have to leave Teti and
Tinùviel to themselves for all that time...
Graduate Position in Feral Cat study available13 Dec 2005 16:23 GMT3
The University of Florida is preparing to start a study on the impact of
intensive trap-neuter-return of stray and feral cats on the number of cats
that end up at animal control. We have selected the area of Alachua County,
Florida with the largest number of cat admissions to the ...

Ping Helen S. [OT] Teeth Problems13 Dec 2005 06:56 GMT23
Helen, how did you make out at the dentist's Monday?  Are you feeling
better, has the abscess gone?
I went to the oral surgeon last night (my regular dentist didn't want to do
the root canal because I had weird, branching, curving roots on that tooth.

Kate and Jack have discovered curtains13 Dec 2005 04:51 GMT7
I knew it had to happen eventually, of course.
They are two hoolikittens always in search of trouble.
They've discovered wires (had to cover them), my giant stuffed camel's
ear (tore it off), newspapers (tore them apart and played with them),
Happy anniversary, Mama and Daddy!13 Dec 2005 00:24 GMT8
My Mama has been in a big nasty funk lately because she can't stand this
time of year. I heard she used to get roughed up a lot around this time,
like I used to. So when we met 2 years ago, I understood her.
They called me Slippers, back then. GAAACK! Slippers?! For a hunk of

Chia Pet for Cats12 Dec 2005 18:23 GMT4
Saw this advertisement on late-night television.  Chia-pets are these odd
clay things with seeds in them and you put water in them and they sprout
"hair" which is essentially a type of grass.  This is sprouting cat grass
from a pot with Sylvester & Tweetie Bird on the planter:
Kayla arrived on Wednesday12 Dec 2005 18:05 GMT7
We picked up our six week old Border Collie baby girl, Kayla on Wednesday.
Talk about a full time job!  She is wonderful, but already a real handful.
I'm determined to train her properly from the beginning, so just like with a
human baby, I sleep when she sleeps.
Vet Tech Journals: Relenquishing to Fate12 Dec 2005 17:51 GMT14
Well it is the end of the semester....
In case some of you don't remember i rescued a cat at the beginning of
the summer.  She's gray and white and a DMH and very sweet.  She's also
a little varmint, crying at all hours of the morning.  Also she loves
A roomful of toddlers12 Dec 2005 17:27 GMT4
I've got a roomful of toddlers. Or so it seems.
I'm trying to fix breakfast. There is a slight problem with this,
however - I have four cats in the kitchen. Since Little Boy came in,
everyone wants to make sure I still like them or something.
