Renovation dilemma22 Dec 2005 07:41 GMT11
We are doing a renovation on our house so that we can get some light in our
house and views of the backyard.  I think it'll be pretty substantial and it
probably makes sense to move out for a period of time.  But I can't.  It's
Otis.
The Night Before Christmas in the Mills of Missouri [OT]22 Dec 2005 03:39 GMT4
'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the mills,
not a puppy was stirring, it was strangely quite still.
While back at the pole, Santa readied the sleigh
to pick up these mill dogs, it was such a long way!
Dumb question22 Dec 2005 03:14 GMT6
Well, dumb me, I guess!
The other day, a friend took me to Petco and Target to get mostly cat
food, litter and holiday toys.  I got four cans of cat food and a
couple of toys in a small bag and left them in my friend's car.  I
Otis and Christmas22 Dec 2005 01:14 GMT8
Well I've bought Otis a tin of Turkey cat food for his Xmas treat,
that's as far as it goes in our house as we don't really celebrate Xmas
in terms of presents, decorations etc.  But we are having our best
friends and baby over for a meal. My DH (the Savoy-trained chef) did a
God I miss my babies. :o(22 Dec 2005 00:06 GMT5
Everyone has been dispatched to the cattery :o(. On the plus side, HRFL
was well enought to go to the cattery, on the minus side, I REALLY MISS
MY BABIES! My house is so quiet & silent. :o(

Thanks from Speckles21 Dec 2005 23:51 GMT4
Speckles meows a thank-you for all the wonderful support she got from
the Group, both during her ordeal and after she rallied.  She's doing
very well; I'm still amazed at her quick turnaround.  Thursday night
she was so listless and limp, I held out little hope for her.   After
Smokey makes peace with the TREE21 Dec 2005 23:07 GMT7
For the past three Yules, Smokey (our ex-feral boy) has not been fond
of the tree.  The first year, he was absolutely terrified by it.  A
Tree.  from OUTSIDE.  IN HERE.  Obviously:
1.  The tree had come to kidnap him and take him back to the forest
Sundance loves to chew paper21 Dec 2005 22:23 GMT4
He usually chews on the pile of recycle paper on the kitchen counter, but
when I hear him chewing I go in to make sure that's all it is.  Tonight when
I went in, he had his best I-wasn't-doing-anything look on.  I might have
been convinced, except for the little, itty-bitty piece ...
Pan Is Home!21 Dec 2005 21:45 GMT1
And evidently, he's not quite ready to check out of the Hotel de Vie
quite yet.  =o) He cussed me out all the way home, when he wasn't
busily rubbing his muzzle against my finger, thrust into an airhole of
his carrying case.  He's also been grumping at the girls, and giving me
Does your cat or cats smile all the time?21 Dec 2005 17:15 GMT9
Persia always looks like she's smiling, even when she has a slightly
furroughed brow, looking like she's anxious about something.  (Of course
this changes if she's yowling at the neighbor cats invading her territory
outside the windows.)  But she always looks so happy... and she ...

Gifts from Far Away (OT)21 Dec 2005 14:44 GMT2
There's a woman from another ng I've "known" since 1997.  She is a very
sweet, wonderful woman who has gone through a LOT of things in her lifetime,
including her family fleeing the Nazi's from Austria to NYC when she was a
girl.

Rescue Cats!21 Dec 2005 10:48 GMT18
I am new to the group but am very excited as I am going to adopt two
rescue cats after Christmas.  One is a beautiful tabby and the other is
a small cute black cat with striking eyes.  They are a couple of young
sisters.  I haven't yet decided on names for them - I will have to see
