My Fizzy23 Nov 2005 19:42 GMT12
Fizz came into my life from the Washington DC animal shelter in late
fall 2000.  He had grown up on the streets of DC, in a not-so-nice
neighborhood.  I went into the shelter looking for a black and white
girl cat, but there was something about him that made me look twice.  I

This morning, Dulce Mae was being sweet and loving, giving me her
best "Please don't go to work" behavior.
At one point, she went into upside-downy-head position, which always
makes me stop to love her. At another point, she laid atop my

DH's parents are here for the week, and Oscar is none too pleased to
have intruders in the house.
As of about a year ago, any visitors whatsoever would have her fleeing
to parts unknown.  Most of my guests had to take it on faith that I

Well, not actually. But Pippin is starting to show signs of the
transformation I had hoped for with the passing of his tormentor, my
dear Fizz.
Last night he stayed inside all night (ok, in part because of the cold
Can cats not eat pork?23 Nov 2005 07:16 GMT159
Quite clearly, cat food seems to be derived not from what cats would
eat but from what humans eat: beef, chicken, turkey, tuna, etc.
However, I also notice a conspicuous absence of one very popular and
common human staple from cat foods: pork.

Attention knitters! (and everyone else)23 Nov 2005 02:59 GMT21
Here's a photo gallery of cats enjoying their hand-knitted cat
beds. I poked around the site a bit, looking for the pattern, but
didn't see it... but it's a big site, so if any of you knitters
are motivated, you might find the pattern in there somewhere.

Thanks for reading.  I've done a cat tribute page to demonstrate
"Collaborative Art" for the undergraduate students in Digital Media here
at UC Santa Cruz.  The genesis of the page was my two cats Diablo and
Anjelica, who died within a year of each other.  Since then, we've

Barney and the Puffball23 Nov 2005 00:08 GMT1
To give the Rubble family a bit more to do than sleep, eat, poop & pee, and
attack each other (and our ankles :D), we took a few puffballs into the
bedroom for them to play with (no, Persia, Weebs still has His Purple
Puffball... the ones we gave them are the rainbow colored ones ...
New Fur Baby22 Nov 2005 22:12 GMT28
We have been searching the newspapers and online for some time now to find
another fur child to fill out our family.  The last of our poodles died at
seventeen years of age a few months ago.  She went to join her twin sister
who died last year.
