Update on Miss Whiskers Thurs PM04 Nov 2005 10:46 GMT22
Just got back from the ER.
It seems that Miss Whiskers has an systemic infection from her ordeal.
Quite apart from the damaged eye, something that I didn't mention on
Friday was that when found, she also had quite badly burned paws which

Today Eli was laying next to me on the floor when Lily started looking in the cat flap (to make sure Eli not around) so she could come in and have a bite to eat. Eli *always* attacks her. So I hid Eli Peace Talks04 Nov 2005 06:04 GMT42
Today Eli was laying next to me on the floor when Lily started looking in
the cat flap (to make sure Eli not around) so she could come in and have a
bite to eat. Eli *always* attacks her. So I hid Eli from her long enough to
get them both inside at once, so I could have a talk ...
"Portrait" of Princess and Smidgin - just posted a photo of my painting04 Nov 2005 05:53 GMT21
I have been taking oil painting lessons for 3 years. My idea when I started
was to have something special to look forward to when I reach retirement and
not become a "couch potato." I soon found that I love painting "right now."
I just finished my first attempt at painting cats. I ...
Pearl update04 Nov 2005 05:29 GMT15
She got her blood tested today one week after being off pred and her
sugar level dropped to 194 (from over 300 a week ago). So I'm very
relieved that it looks like this blood sugar thing may be transient.

The Forest of Youth? (OT)04 Nov 2005 02:36 GMT4
I've been taking long walks (3-4 miles) in the woods several times a week
since late September, in an effort to shed excess weight. I've only lost 4
lbs. in all that time, but there are other benefits. One is lessening of my
depression. And it is making me feel younger.

Unknown kitty -  RB03 Nov 2005 23:41 GMT9
My DH found a kitty on the road today - RB, not far from our house, it
looked like he had been hit by a car. He had no collar or tags, so DH
brought him home and we buried him on our property this evening... he
looked very much like one of our own cats, so we hope he will be ...

Well, apart from her eye, which is quite frankly a mess, Miss Whiskers
is doing very well. She's eating like a little horse, what's going in,
is coming out in a healthy manner, and even better yet, as soon as her
operation is over and done and dusted this week, and if she makes it
