Billy's First Bath06 Nov 2005 20:42 GMT8
He came in this morning all damp from the grass, crawled into my lap and
rolled over onto his back. That's when I saw and smelled the mess. No idea
what kind of poop it was - horse? dog? kitty? - but it was all over his
belly. So into the bathroom we went. I put about 3" of warm ...
Strange features of your cat?06 Nov 2005 18:42 GMT26
The thread about Miss Whiskers has me wondering, who here has a cat
that's got one eye or three legs or no tail or extra toes or some other
"unusual feature?"  And do you know why your cat has this "feature?"
Smokey, Kumani and Tyche look pretty standard.

some observations:
o an inveterate kitchen can turner-over, just like my last Siamese.
Doesn't have to be anything in it, practice is good enough.
o Knows all about begging at dinner, complete with light paw tap.
We have a name :o)05 Nov 2005 21:28 GMT13
Miss Whiskers has officially been named this evening. Her official name
is "Lilly".
We decided on calling her Lotus, but when we called her using the name
"Lotus", she ignored us. (She was asleep). Then my brother said, how

I have just learned that the Blackberry Creme yogurt is NOT mine, it's
Chaos's. Head under my arm, foot over hand, pull, shove face in canister,

Brave kitties microchipped05 Nov 2005 14:43 GMT4
We just got back from TED.  Rosie and Cinder sang us a duet on the way out,
but settled down about the time we were due to arrive.
This was not our usual vet because he does not sell the microchips.
We had a fairly long wait in the waiting room.  The kitties hunkered down in
Another Venting (OT)05 Nov 2005 14:31 GMT16
Too bad you can't choose your family, eh?
I just love the way they all talk about me like I'm a stray dog or cat (no
offense to the stray dogs and cats in the world).  Mom just called.  "Your
brother says he can't take you"  (meaning, I can't move in with him).  I
Kitty Kisses05 Nov 2005 08:19 GMT10
I wasn't feeling well yesterday.  Persia was playing nurse, as cats are wont
to do.  I was dozing when I heard this loud purring in my ear.  Persia very
softly licked my cheek, just a couple of quick swipes, before laying her
head next to my shoulder.  Awwww!  Kitty kisses!

surgery on 23yo Nutmeg a success05 Nov 2005 07:22 GMT4
Katie and I drove up to NYC reservoir area to see a longtime friend.
Unfortunately missed seeing Nutmeg, her 23yo tortie, who was having
surgery that day for dental abscesses and she pulled through in fine
fettle.

Brave kitties04 Nov 2005 23:46 GMT4
Today we had the carpet cleaned.  I was at work.  Jim reports that Cinder
and Rosie hid part of the time, but in spite of the stranger in the house,
the furniture moving, the machinery and all the noise and commotion involved
in carpet cleaning, they put in occasional appearances ...
Know of any rescues in MD that will pick up deserted kittens?04 Nov 2005 23:41 GMT5
Last night I saw two kittens living behind a dumpster in Edgewater (Anne Arundel
Co.), MD.  Does anyone know of any group that will go pick these kittens up?
They look to be about 9 or 10 weeks old, they weren't terrified of me, just
wary.  Any idea who to call?  I've tried calling ...
Am I weird????04 Nov 2005 23:15 GMT16
OK - no need to actually answer that!!
But I posted here about DH 'saving' a chipmunk that was stunned by a passing
motorist, and how we saved a box turtle (endangered species) that was
crossing the road - and I did it again about a month ago (saved a turtle,
Chester got out!04 Nov 2005 14:10 GMT8
Darn it all!  After I kept Chester in all Halloween night, my son came home
from trick or treating and stood in the doorway for an extended period of
time.  This gave Chester the opportunity to slip out into the cold dark
night.  He's been gone for a couple of hours now and I ...
