It's 11.30pm and I've just had the phone call I've been dreading for months. You may remember me talking about George, one of my best friends cat, who I've looked after when they've been away, and he went on the missing list, well he had to be put to sleep today. She has

Well, I have not been looking for another cat since having Tuppence leave me. That part of my heart is still tender. I really wasn't looking, and had DH not seen her, I would have missed her, and been none-the-wiser to her fate.

Some years ago, my mum gave me (or rather, the cats) a wind-up mousie for Yule. You wind it up by pulling out a cord in the side. There's a small ring at the end of the cord. It only runs a very short distance, in a circle, but the cats have found it quite fascinating. Nikki

We had a plugged sewer drain from the main drain in the basement out to the sewer system and the roto-rooter guys came this morning to clear it out. The younger of the two was about 6'3", broad shouldered, and quite imposing. When I came downstairs, I saw him kneeling down give ...

| Positive cat-related advice from columnist | 09 Nov 2005 15:50 GMT | 1 |
The Washington Post replaced Ann Landers a while ago with a column called "Ask Amy". For those who didn't see it today, the second letter dealt with a woman dealing with a blended family, including a cat. The cat had scratched her 1 year old boy. Amy's advice was very good:

| Scouty plays Pounce-the-cursor | 09 Nov 2005 15:38 GMT | 5 |
This morning when I turned on the computer, Scouty jumped up on the desk to supervise, the same as she usually does. But this time she noticed my mouse cursor on the screen and she batted at it. So I moved the mouse and she reached up and batted at it again. Every time I
