| Levitating cat | 18 Nov 2005 04:40 GMT | 8 |
Winter is here and Otis has never been built for it in the first place - less so now that he's approaching 10 years old. When I open the door, he shakes all four paws at the same time, rotates in midair and retreats back to his fleece cat bed.

| kitten tails | 18 Nov 2005 04:08 GMT | 7 |
hello everyone...just had to write an update on the kittens, as they are so cute! so, we have Violette, Moe, Curly and Larry. Violette is the spitting image of her mother, very sweet and snuggly, and likes to socialize with hoomins. Moe is very adventurous, likes looking around and ...

| At least someone around here has some sense. | 18 Nov 2005 02:39 GMT | 21 |
My DH has decided for some arcane reason to stop taking all his medicine and not to see his doctor anymore. I'd blame male idiocy only its the kind of thing my mother would have done too. None of this should be immediately life threatening and grownups (if you can

| So many new cats | 18 Nov 2005 01:52 GMT | 29 |
It seems like a bunch of you have added to your families in the very recent past, and I've been further adopted recently myself by Jungle Jack. He's a light-coloured Siamese mix (gold- or flame-point, it's been suggested) with some faint tabby striping on his face/legs/tail,

| Hugo Katt is home again | 17 Nov 2005 23:59 GMT | 18 |
Hugo Katt is home after 6 days in the animal hospital. After lots and lots of tests the result is: he suffers from hyperthyroidism. He will be treated with pills. We have not started that yet because TED said he had heard of a new Danish medicine, and he will research this and find

| PING Shelter workers (OT, more or less) | 17 Nov 2005 20:27 GMT | 12 |
I need to ask all of you that are active in working at your local shelters, does the shelter have a lawyer? We have gotten a couple of calls recently from Humane Society people in neighboring counties, saying they'd heard that my DH is someone who *WILL* aggressively

| DC area RPCA-ers | 17 Nov 2005 19:32 GMT | 1 |
Folks, At Christmas time we'll be having a RPCA/Catslaves meet-up. About 8 people have contacted me so far to say they're interested in hooking up. Last time we did it, it was a lot of fun. So...if you're in the DC area

| Thank you, Dante! | 17 Nov 2005 18:24 GMT | 10 |
The little booger has found a plastic milk-top ring, and really wants to make sure I see it. He keeps leaping up on the computer desk with it, and I have started tossing it away. Boing, back he comes. Oh no, I think I am entering a terrible vicious cycle. ;)

| PURR CHAIN FOR BETTY | 17 Nov 2005 15:44 GMT | 46 |
When a church member is scheduled for chemotherapy, surgery, or such we start a prayer chain, more-or-less synchronizing in real time with the procedure. Can we sort of organize a collective purr chain for Betty on Thursday?

| Shameless cat | 17 Nov 2005 15:07 GMT | 2 |
I've been working horrendous hours on some financial stuff for my daugher's school and have had a parade of other people in the house helping me with it. Otis has jumped up and settled in on every single visitor's lap. He purrs

| Seeking help for kitty with Feline AIDS | 17 Nov 2005 13:28 GMT | 5 |
My cat Betsy was just diagnosed with FIV, and the local vet clinic has pretty much given up on her. They claim this disease is untreatable, but I'm looking for options anyway. Has anyone in this group ever treated a cat with FIV? I'm not ready

| Fall Down, Go Boom -- Again! | 17 Nov 2005 08:58 GMT | 15 |
I don't know what it is with me this year, but at least there was a reason this time. Cat puke. Yup, unnoticed cat puke. I'm walking through the kitchen after cutting the top of my freezer pop (they help my throat), and

| Continuing a little longer | 17 Nov 2005 04:49 GMT | 31 |
It's been three months since Betty was diagnosed with cancer, and I was told that she had 6 - 8 months to live, if treated, so I assume that she currently has 3 - 5 more months, or until February to May. Today I took Betty in for her chemotherapy again. But when the

| Katrina's lost pets | 16 Nov 2005 23:08 GMT | 7 |
The following story, including a picture with a gorgeous black cat was on the front page of our local paper today. Its about a local animal shelter employee who went to LA to help with animal rescue. I'm sure the Rotweiller in the picture isn't Lori's but it is one
