We came through OK, but we lost electricity from 2:00AM this morning until
just a few minutes ago.  We had some large branches fall off our trees, but
luckily only into the yard and not onto anything.
The most damage was done by *US*, not the storm.  We had boarded up the

Cats in my Nightmare - (long and GW)26 Sep 2005 11:33 GMT10
I can only guess the nightmare I had last night was a combination of recent
events - having travelled out of town for a week, Katrina and now Rita
represented by the water element, and lost or abandoned cats.  This was a
doozy of a nightmare.  It played out like a movie.
Otis (London) is 16 and can still surprise me!26 Sep 2005 11:23 GMT6
They say cat's don't go for sweet things, which is true in Otis's case,
unless it's creamy too.  Well tonight I was eating a blueberry muffin
in front of the TV, and as usual when I eat something, he shows
interest and I let him smell it and he decides bleurgh, veggie crap,
Sugar needs purrs26 Sep 2005 03:25 GMT28
I'm going to try to get in tomorrow (though we have an appointment for
Monday because she has been creaking as she walks). But tonight I
noticed her bottom lip is swollen. I'm really scared about it. I so
hope it is not serious. I just can't have another baby lost :(
Impending news26 Sep 2005 03:09 GMT41
We're having a late April, early May baby.
Official date is May 5th, but never carried the first two to due date
before.

I mentioned a stray kitten a few days back, well here it is:

I was concerned about being a cat napper at the time, but so far it's turned
into more of a home invasion. We've been letting it sleep in ...
How old before micro-chipping?25 Sep 2005 22:08 GMT26
I think I will get Lily microchipped. She is 4-5 months old now. Is that old
enough? I'm too lazy to call my vet, heh.

Purrs for Pan, Please25 Sep 2005 20:53 GMT22
Last Thursday, I took Panther to the vet to get his blood checked to
make sure he's getting the right amount of medication. This morning, I
talked to Pan's vet who told me Pan's thyroid was the highest it's ever
been. (He has a thyroid tumor that we're controlling through

I accidently marked the group "caught up" before I could reply. Have
you put any more thought into adopting that gorgeous GS mix? I would
love to have a dog. Not a loud yippy one, but I love the big, gentle
dogs like the one you're eyeing is. :) How do you think Bootsie would
Proposed Solution25 Sep 2005 19:30 GMT92
There is a point in "The Godfather" by M. Puzo where one of the
characters says, "I tried to live within the system, but the system
failed me.  Now, for justice, I must go to Don Corleone."
That is what has happened here.
Rita's edge is here25 Sep 2005 15:26 GMT2
We've got rain. Not much so far but it's going to continue through the night
and into tomorrow, according to the radar map on CNN. Thank God, it will
cool us off a bit, finally.
I was so glad to hear that it did a lot less damage than was anticipated
The Levees Failed Again25 Sep 2005 10:52 GMT2
It's the ninth ward levees and it's going to flood St. Bernard again.  They
couldn't handle the rains from Rita.
Purrs and purr-ayers for the people there are desperately needed, folks.
Hugs,
