Abelard loses the corn08 Aug 2005 11:10 GMT5
I didn't expect it, but I had outstanding success with my sweet corn crop
this year, in spite of the cats using the shady spaces between the plants as
a playground and nap hangout in the summer heat. The plants are 10' high and
bearing 3-4 ears per stalk!!!
New leather couch brings out the wild animal in Vino08 Aug 2005 04:57 GMT22
Yesterday our long awaited, custom made, leather couch and loveseat
got delivered.  It was an exciting day for everyone, but none more so
than Vino.
I don't know if it was the smell of dead cow or what, but he went
purebred rescue - mid-Altlantic region08 Aug 2005 04:52 GMT1
Last week there was a desperate rescue of over 20 cats in the
Maryland/Virginia/Chesapeake Bay area. The cats were left in filthy
ramshackle cages when their eldery owner died suddenly. They have all
now been taken in by a friend of the owner who is slowly getting to
My Name is Sir Robert08 Aug 2005 04:46 GMT8
My sister has written a kid's story, and has given me permission to let
y'all read it:
My name is Sir Robert.  I'm a pussy cat.  I live with my Mum and Dad.
Their names are Mummy and Daddy.  When I am good, Mummy and Daddy call
We have a prowler08 Aug 2005 03:36 GMT13
'Someone' came in the house through the cat flap last night. The first clue
was the empty catfood dish, which I had filled before going to bed. And the
dirty tracks all over the counters. And, whatever it was took a box from the
cupboard, tore a hole in it and left a trail of Cream ...
Persia's Tale08 Aug 2005 01:25 GMT7
No, it's not a tail... but she does have a lovely subtle black on grey
striped tail :)  For any newbies who don't know her, here's her story.
On January 6, 2001, a cat (Persia) came to the back door on the patio.  She
was crying, crying.  She wanted to be let inside.  I tried to ...
Could Use Some Purrs07 Aug 2005 18:38 GMT42
I usually cope with my Fibromyalgia by trying to totally ignore it and
getting on with my life.
However, lately that's been hard to do because of some other stuff going on.
The degenerative disk disease has been unremitting in my lower back for the
Our Kitty07 Aug 2005 18:26 GMT11
Sherry suggested I post a few photos of our kitten, Omar.  So, here are a
few fotos of our new little Omar ... an unusually marked brown tabby. There
is a mix but ... who knows what!  We got Omar at 8 weeks of age from the OC
Shelter in Orange, CA.  Omar is now going on 16 weeks ...
Getting the cat back (LONG)07 Aug 2005 17:58 GMT9
Hi all, I was here a few months ago and was posting semi-regularly.  I
dropped off the radar as we were moving back to the US.  We are finally
here...without the furniture, but that's okay.  It'll show up one of these
days.

Much too hot.....07 Aug 2005 12:02 GMT1
It is much too HOT!  Way to hot for a kitty to play, romp or do other
catlike things.  Even cuddling up to a hoomin is way too hot!
The kitchen and bathroom floor are on the cool side, but not as soft
unfortunately.  And the stoopid hoomin keeps HOGGING the fan!!!  How
The Closer07 Aug 2005 09:37 GMT22
Anyone watch The Closer?  I love it.  So, I was watching it last night
(taped it the night before),and she had a cat in a pillowcase that was
'sick' and was taken to the vet.  *He* had kittens!  So, she goes to
pick them up the next day, and whaddya know, her cat had 6 kittens
Poor Petrus (and mom)07 Aug 2005 04:52 GMT8
Tycho has to stay overnight to see if he passes hair (Ihave NO idea what
they are trying and they didn't really tell mom). But besides her being
worried, Petrus has NEVER been without his buddy and he is walking around
the house crying and looking all over (which makes mom want to ...
Breaking in my smoker07 Aug 2005 04:40 GMT7
So last week I finally bit the bullet a bought a grill/smoker combo.
We've been without a grill for ages, so it was about time. Considering
here in Central Texas we can bbq year-round, it's really silly not to
have a grill. So, last weekend I put the grill part together and ...
