My Little Guard-cat12 Aug 2005 05:08 GMT5
I was on the sofa reading with Persia curled up on me.  Suddenly I heard
this scratching sound at the patio window.  Persia sat up and growled like
the little grey panther she is :)  She went over and peered out the window.
I got my big flashlight and went into my bedroom where I ...
oops12 Aug 2005 05:03 GMT4
Little Bit: I SWEAR it was an accident, and I'm VERY sorry if "poor
lil Spotty" got wet. You see I was just testing the temperature in the
glass of water that the hoomin sets by his bed at night - I prefer it
to be just a tad cooler than room temperature. Anyway, somehow the
How often to bathe a cat?12 Aug 2005 04:12 GMT72
We've had Nocturne for 3.5 years now and she has never had a bath.
Maybe she had one at the animal shelter, but not since we've gotten
her.
How often should you bathe a cat?
Smokey is a table boy12 Aug 2005 03:24 GMT4
Previously Smokey has been a very good boy.  He's afraid that bad boys
have to live outside.  He never jumps on counters or the table or the
stove.
That has changed.  Smokey has taken to sitting pretty on a placemat on
Update #2 on Baby Boy11 Aug 2005 23:16 GMT3
The baby hasn't had any gas today, which is quite a relief, since he was
a pretty stinky boy there for a while (sorry, Stinky). He also likes to
cuddle near my face, so I always got the full blast, so to speak. P-U!
Glad that seems to be over.
TED visits....11 Aug 2005 22:59 GMT8
Ming and Buttercup went to TEDs for their check-ups. Neither wanted to
come out of their carriers (it took my younger son with his VERY long
arms to get Buttercup out- she was huddled *way* in the back).  They
struggled against the thermometer, but neither even tried to bite,
Rhett throws his weight around11 Aug 2005 21:04 GMT18
Rhett now being the largest of the four furbabies even at just 11
months old (~15 pounds - tall, long and lean) has this amusing way
of laying down and snuggling with Shamrock and Bonnie. He adores
both of them, but he plays rough, even by their standards. When he
Abelard was bitten or stung11 Aug 2005 20:46 GMT8
He went outside for a short time this morning and when he came back the area
under the lower jaw was swollen up so much that he looked like a pelican.
I've seen many a swollen cat/dog face but never anything like this. It was
funny!
The Wagon Train [Long]11 Aug 2005 20:29 GMT2
Well, Arthur was due for his three-year rabies shot (required here),
and I had decided to put everyone on a three-year distemper
vaccination schedule, rather than yearly, due to concerns about VAS.
Oops, it's been *four* years for all but Merlyn.  Time to load up the
Totally OT: US road maps11 Aug 2005 20:15 GMT38
With apologies for a very OT post, but this is to the USA readers here:
what do you consider the clearest, most detailed and accurate road maps?
We are travelling to NY/NJ next month and hiring a car, and I want to
get a few road maps - probably a big road atlas plus more detailed ...
The mighty huntress strikes again11 Aug 2005 19:29 GMT3
A mole! mole! She got a mole!! *Excellent* The little b*gg*rs dig up my lawn
to make the surface look like the moon, where I often go over on my weak
ankle as the thin surface falls away as I walk on it, which causes me
intense pain and I end up having to have a support bandage ...
Vino got microchipped!11 Aug 2005 18:10 GMT23
Yesterday we took Vino in for microchipping and to get all his
vaccinations up to date.  He was such a good boy in every way, we are
so proud of him!
He did escape from his carrier in the car by pressing his face up
Desk poking11 Aug 2005 17:16 GMT2
Vino likes to meatloaf on the desk while I'm reading the NG.  Every so
often he will get up and stretch and prance about on his little kitty
toes.  He does a circuit of the desk and then settles back down in
exactly the same spot an in the same position that he was in before.

Kittycat playtime11 Aug 2005 02:16 GMT6
The girls have been extra affectionate this week... probably because
we left them alone and went on vacation (horrors!) So now they're
demanding lots of cuddles and pettings, kneading on us, snuggling up
close at every possible opportunity, and generally being sweet
