John's Mom had a Fall :(21 Aug 2005 01:45 GMT16
He spent Wednesday and a good bit of yesterday with her at the hospital.  It
seems she passed out and fell right on her face with no hands outstretched
to try to break her fall.  She has a broken nose, some bones in her face are
damaged and her eyes are blackened and swollen shut.  ...
cat herding (not the video!-)20 Aug 2005 20:11 GMT1
When Beast was absent for dinner and after calling for him we'd tell
Quinn "Where's Beast?  Go get Beast" and usually Quinn would go off and
shortly Beast would appear, shepherded by Quinn with little shoulder
bumps.  Of course, Beast was Quinns buddy so even if the command was

My errands sometimes take me to a lovely street where there happen to
be a lot of businesscats.
So today I saw: Mr. Tea, a bashful white fellow, who lives in the
coffee/tea shop;
Cleo update20 Aug 2005 19:37 GMT44
I got a call from the vet this morning. He sedated Cleopatra this morning
to prepare to remove the accessed tooth. When he went in to start his work
he found a big tumor on the roof of her mouth. He's removing it this
mroning and sending it out to a pathology lab.

IBKFergus doens't quite know how to display affection in the normal catly
manner of purring, head butting or, indeed, sitting quietly on a lap,
meatloafing.
That would be *far* too normal for IBKFergus.
Another ghost cat encounter20 Aug 2005 18:38 GMT9
But this time it wasn't me.
You might recall that I posted a couple years ago about my brother's cat
Samantha, a beautiful Siamese, passing away. Samanatha's passing also
marked the end of Pat's regular visits from an invisible ghost cat.
Stretching payback20 Aug 2005 18:13 GMT5
Orlie and Tyler are curled up together in front of the heater. Tyler
just had a good stretch, bracing his back paw against the base of poor
Orlie's tail to get better leverage. Not missing a beat, Orlie had a
stretch too, placing his front paw right smack in the middle of Tyler's ...
Going away AGAIN20 Aug 2005 16:18 GMT5
Just wanted you all to know that purrs and good thoughts will be heading
everyone's way over the next week while we're away.  I don't think I'll be
able to check in but I hope that it is a good week for rpca.

I'm trying to be a good boy!20 Aug 2005 14:09 GMT2
One of my kitties asked me to post this:
Dear RPCA hoomins,
Meowmie, who I love so dearly, has been getting real upset and yelling at me
for making Lily, Baby Eyes and Abelard scream and run up trees. She even

Caliban managed to turn off my touchpad and I didn't know how to turn it
back on without clicking on the icon, which I couldn't do because the
touchpad wasn't working so I couldn't move the cursor. Note to self:
always close laptop when leaving it unattended.
Still here - just lurking20 Aug 2005 13:35 GMT1
I'm still around, I've just been lurking because I don't have the energy to
actually post replies to all 1077 unread messages!  ;>  My doctor's
appointment is in less than 2 weeks now - I just hope I'm not placing to
much expectations that things will change drastically after I see ...
They're leaving again - party at our house20 Aug 2005 13:12 GMT5
Well, the slaves were up until 2 am this morning putting things into the
big white box that they haul around behind their truck.  That can mean
only one thing...they're going away again.  Which means we have the
house to ourselves, well except for the two times the sitter comes ...
Waaaaaahhhhhhhh <long>20 Aug 2005 12:50 GMT7
I can't believe it.  On Monday, it will have been *TWO WHOLE YEARS* since I
got Weeble.  Most of you know he was just about a day old when I got him,
after he was abandoned by his MamaKat in one of the basement window wells of
our house.  I fed him, washed him (using a damp ...

Purrs for Imp20 Aug 2005 07:53 GMT20
Someone had diarrhea last wednesday, but with 3 cats I could not tell
who did it.
Then on Thursday night after seeing three huge globs of diarrhea in the
litter box I immediately did a butt check.
