The Cats' Party31 Aug 2005 23:58 GMT6
The cats enjoyed the party.   It was nice to have all their favourite
foods and to leap from knee to knee. I know they appreciated the
beautiful birthday cakes (there were two, a chocolate one made by my
sister-in-law and a special fruit cake done by Helen, my cat loving
Bud's bad report card31 Aug 2005 23:16 GMT3
A close relative recently took Bud, his 14-year-old long-hair former stray
with a mind of his own, to the vets to be groomed. When he picked up his
kitty who is diabetic, he has handed the invoice. It listed a supply of
insulin my relative needed for Bud, and the cost of grooming ...
Finding Pets Left Behind31 Aug 2005 21:47 GMT2
I don't know if this would be of much help at this point but FYI:

Where are YOU? (an rpca map)31 Aug 2005 21:43 GMT73
A cool map thing shown to me by a friend...
Here's what you do.  Use the slider to the left to zoom in by pushing the
curser up.  You can actually zoom to a street level!  You may have to adjust
the map by using the up/down/left/right arrows as the map gets larger as you
It had to happen31 Aug 2005 19:29 GMT15
Last night I awoke in the middle of the night to scuffling sounds from
the bathroom. Miranda hasn't been chasing TP greeblings since we got
home from the island, and I thought sleepily that, ok, now she's
rediscovered them. The scuffling went on and on, and I couldn't get back
Bad News31 Aug 2005 17:48 GMT38
As I mentioned in another post - while the news is chortling over New
Orleans being spared, nobody is reporting on the destruction of adjacent St.
Bernard Parish.  The parish is underwater for miles and miles (my MIL's home
is one of those affected.  Two high schools are now piles ...
Nanki-Poo31 Aug 2005 08:48 GMT15
First, an apology.  I spent 10 days (instead of the 9 I had planned)
visiting my mother in Alaska.  Every since I got back, I've been swamped.
I've peeked in a few times, but just can't keep up with the group.  Purrs,
hugs and sympathy to everyone who needs them.
Bless DH's Heart!  And *MAJOR* Purrs Needed31 Aug 2005 05:20 GMT34
He managed to sweet-talk his way into a day off today, came home and spent
all morning boarding up the back yard so no dog can get under the deck, or
under the fence, or out in any other way - and informed MIL that the dogs
were going to spend the visit in the nice, large, shady (we ...
Just a thought regarding Katrina31 Aug 2005 05:17 GMT2
They're stockpiling several refridgerated trailers near the office because
offically we're renting from the US Military and we see much of what they do
off post. If some remember Pam Shirk's husband worked very close by at the
airport the local national guard had purchased.  At ...
Upgrading the computer - a picture31 Aug 2005 03:14 GMT14
Yesterday morning, my modem didn't work.  Weird, since it had worked
great just the night before.  I did a bunch of tests and it was
definitely the modem that was fried.  So I had to drive to the next
town 30 min away to get a new one.

Purrs for DH?30 Aug 2005 23:33 GMT32
Aren't I the purr-hog today.
DH got attacked by a renegade swarm of bees. I don't think they were a
true Africanized colony or he'd probably be dead. But he has at least a
dozen stings and his right arm is about the size of his leg. I counted
Too Cute30 Aug 2005 23:31 GMT18
Found this in a different news group. Sorry if it's already been posted, but
I thought it was adorable.

Away for a few days ...30 Aug 2005 22:31 GMT1
Spending a few days in the Lake Como area, relaxing, chilling out and
not thinking about work.  Cats already at their "holiday home", and
doubtless being spoiled!
Purrs to all that need them
