What's the most cat-friendly ant-killer?29 Jun 2005 05:33 GMT14
We're fighting a losing battle against the %^&(*&^ sugar
ants...they're crawling all over our apartment - put a glass down on a
table (eg.the bedside table at night) and come back a few hours later
to find it full of drowned ants.  Not to mention the ant-trail running
thuderstorm29 Jun 2005 05:31 GMT24
There was a thunderstorm last evening. Rusty was afraid of thunders and hid
under my computer desk. Once he even hid
besides the vacuum monster in the storage room.
Later the power went off.

OK, I'm trying to be diligent while working from home, it's still early days
and I want to make a good impression and be really productive.
But it's a bit hard to concentrate when a 15+ pound cat insists on getting
in your lap so she can suck her toe and knead on a nice, flabby ...
Audience29 Jun 2005 04:47 GMT7
I was out for an evening's cycling pootle around the lanes, making the most
of the good weather. Along one of the quiet lanes three felines (all
tabbies) were sat on the grass verge & watched me as I cycled by. Totally
unfazed by sight of woman in yellow & black Lycra on race ...

The boy29 Jun 2005 04:42 GMT7
I think the boy has dependency issues. He's needy. He whines and whimpers
for attention. Which he gets ;)... sometimes. Apparently Abi just tossed him
out of her bedroom because she wants to sleep and he wanted attention.
So he's back to me. Mom is always good for a pet. Bless his ...
Vino got me back for scaring him29 Jun 2005 04:10 GMT7
After Vino ate his breakfast this morning, he went straight to his
litterbox as usual.  Sidebar:  Why do they do this?  I think it's so
funny, it's like food in, poop out.
Anyway, he was having a particularly energetic digging session, making

(Whispers) Harvey is scared of mice! (end whisper)
Sunday afternoon Harvey came flying out of the bedroom and made a
beeline for his hiding place under the sofa. So I went back in the
bedroom to see what had scared him so bad. There was a tiny little

Phones & Doorbells29 Jun 2005 00:17 GMT10
My two plain Jane tabbys (Rum and Coke) go into comical hysterics when
the telephone rings.  They leap and run like cannonballs being fired.
Pretty much the same for the doorbell.  There are a couple current
television commercials that feature a doorbell being run and even THAT
A visit with Otis's rescuers and more (LONG)28 Jun 2005 22:42 GMT13
We've got a few more details now that Fred and the kids went over to visit
the family that found Otis.
Otis got into their house shortly after I saw him at 5:00 PM Wednesday
night.  For the next twenty-four hours, the home owners thought they were
Aargh...how am I going to get him out?28 Jun 2005 22:29 GMT14
Tyler, my latest goofball addition to the furry family has got himself
stuck down behind my corner bookcase.
All of my cats have explored down there at one time or another. The
bookcase has shelves that extend along the two walls of the room, with a
Jessie and Sammy28 Jun 2005 22:26 GMT5
Jessie is feeling perkier today, but still not her usual hyper self.  Her
appetite has picked up, but she's still eating way too little so I upped the
dosage of the cyproheptadine to half a tablet instead of a quarter tablet,
and hopefully that will work.  I still don't know what ...
Good Show (OT)28 Jun 2005 22:24 GMT5
My LLL is currently working an art show in Toledo, OH.  When we talked last
night he was very depressed and a little upset.  He hadn't done this show in
2 years but the friends who are in charge talked him into giving it another
shot.  It was looking like it was going to be a waste ...
Jazz, RIP28 Jun 2005 22:18 GMT10
I just posted a photo of Jazz in the abpa newsgroup. It's titled Jazz,
1993-2005. It was one of the last pictures I took of him. I miss him so
much. Thank you all for your kind words, they are much appreciated.
