Another update on Spot's kits04 Jun 2005 03:56 GMT8
Finally made it down to TED today to buy some cat food. I should have
made the trip last week, but put it off until Saturday afternoon.
Unfortunately, I didn't get there before they closed for the day, and
we actually ran out of the prescription food. I think the girls were
Brando is Home04 Jun 2005 03:50 GMT5
Getting him in at 8:30 am was impossible for me, but DH was going to
be up anyway.  I kept waking up, though, to make sure he got out in
time to catch the bus.  Then, of course, I couldn't sleep from
worrying about Brando.  Needless to say, I got very little sleep
[OT] Help me I'm Melting!!!04 Jun 2005 00:48 GMT46
I think my frickin' air conditioner is going out (great - right before a
holiday!!).  It's 91F degrees in the house right now even though I have the
thermostat set on 70F.  There is no way I'm going to get an AC maintenance
guy out here before Tuesday without mortgaging my soul to ...
[OT] plumbing grumbles03 Jun 2005 22:54 GMT9
A couple of weeks ago, my sewer starting clogging up noticeably.  At
first, the only symptom was that, when I took a shower, the water
would accumulate in the tub and take a few extra minutes to drain out.
This soon turned into taking a couple of hours to drain.  Then, the
Diagnosis re Omar - at least we have one now03 Jun 2005 22:49 GMT18
Hi all - An update re Omar:
I just got another call from my vet and they had the lab recheck and redo
the ACTH bloodtest result and it does indicate Addison's disease, which I
understand means his body isn't producing enough corticosteriods and we'll
Progress report03 Jun 2005 22:46 GMT8
I recently posted about the cat of a friend of mine who has had to have a
biopsy for thickened bowel walls etc. Thankfully, the biopsy has found no
traces of cancer, but they are waiting results of organ biopsies. They have
taken samples of all the major organs. Will be about ...
UPDATE: Interview purrs03 Jun 2005 22:27 GMT17
Just got back from the interview, and I think it went really well.
They seem enthusiastic about me as well - in fact, the receptionist
seems to think that I got the job.
Won't know anything until the end of next week, however...
New homes for the bitties03 Jun 2005 22:26 GMT8
Well, Flanagan and Lola have found a great home. :o) A family with 2
young boys of 8 & 10, who were very gentle and reserved when meeting the
kittens. Mom and dad didn't commit to the kittens as soon as they saw
them - they had wanted one bitty, and I told them that Flan and Lola
First days of Volunteering03 Jun 2005 17:48 GMT2
Yesterday was my first day of volunteering for the local Humane Society
(www.monroehumane.org).  I spent most of the time emailing people about a
fund raising event coming up, not to mention putting in requests on all the
different online community calendars. Bloomington is ...
Other cat sites out there?03 Jun 2005 17:40 GMT3
How many of you have a web site dedicated to your cat or including pictures
of your beloved moggie? If you do, and you like the ramblings of this mad
moggie at http://mogular.blogspot.com then perhaps we can swap URLs on our
sites.
[OT]  Arrgghhh!  Flipping insurance companies03 Jun 2005 15:37 GMT3
I get a chiro adjustment every week.  I've been doing so for well over
a year.  This year, I switched to DH's insurance policy instead of
having my own.
On March 22, I was rear-ended and went to the chiro to get myself
Kitty photos03 Jun 2005 15:26 GMT2
I just put some pictures of Harri on a.b.p.a, and even one of Samuel kitten.
Two packages03 Jun 2005 14:15 GMT22
I fetched two packages from the post office today.
The first package was from Dan. Besides two pouches of soft treats to
hide pills in, it contained a packet of 3 mousies (white-grey-black) and
a packet of catnip. All the stuff was inside a Petco bag, and the bag
New Additions to the Household03 Jun 2005 13:57 GMT7
I'm getting temporary additions to my small apartment.  My friend has
sold her house and has to move, but it's difficult to arrange with
2 cats and an old dog, so I offered to foster the cats for a few
weeks, until she's settled.
Ping:  Britta  (OT)03 Jun 2005 04:30 GMT9
Ok this is way off topic.  Seven year old grandson went to the local zoo and
is doing a project on something he saw.  He selected the Great Hornbill.
Now I know you are quite a photographer, and that they are in some of the
places you have visited.  Do you by any remote chance ...
