About h0p - The End of the Story23 Jun 2005 16:24 GMT24
Some of you will remember me and h0p.  h0p is my 12 1/2 year old former
feral cat who has been my heart and inspiration for these last many years.
It's my hope that in my lifetime I can show the bravery, courage, and
grace that he has shown in fighting a heart murmer, ...
Penny - RIP  (long, possible TW)23 Jun 2005 16:00 GMT34
Yesterday was not a good day for me.  I had to have Penny euthanized.
She usually went out in the evening for an hour.  Sat. night I had to
call her back in and found her in the grass with the tip of her tongue
out.  She vomited a few times that night, my first thoughts were that

It's May, which is short for Mayhem
She likes to cause it.  She keeps trying to make friends with Mischief,
which only result in Mischief hissing at her.  Imp wants to make
friends at her, and she just hisses at HIM.
More on the floods in North Yorkshire (TW)23 Jun 2005 13:04 GMT6
I was just watching the local news and saw the sad news of a cattery and
kennels that was washed away. One dog has been confirmed killed and
several cats and dogs are missing.

Harry Roadcat update - it's looking grim23 Jun 2005 12:29 GMT39
I finally got to talk to the vet about 45 minutes ago. Harri did survive
te night, and she is breathing more easily thanks to massive doses of
antibiotics and steroids.
However, the x-rays show that both of her lungs are partially collapsed.
OT Apartment Problems23 Jun 2005 08:11 GMT13
Shoot, something's wrong with the bathroom sink
I was brushing my teeth when water started flowing UP through the
drain.  It filled the sink and then stopped.  It seemed to be happening
as I heard water being turned on in the apartment upstairs.

Tiger Balm brings out the Tiger in my cat!23 Jun 2005 05:35 GMT5
I have this really annoying itchy spot on my shoulder, so last night
before bed I put some Tiger Balm on it.
Well!  Insta-cat appeared.  Vino was all over me trying to lick my
shoulder and hands.  I had to keep pushing him away and he kept coming

Mir-mir has started playing with a shoestring, and she often leaves it
like this. I don't know if she is trying to make an 8, a &, or maybe the
infinity sign. Hmmm... A message to the Mothership?

Telephone call re: Harri23 Jun 2005 04:44 GMT6
I just called the clinic that Dan mentioned and made a donation for Harri.
I also asked to speak to a technician, and she sounded very positive.  She
said the vet won't be in until this afternoon to review the lab reports and
evaluate Harri (called "Harriet" by the tech).  ...

Ping: Everyone...  because of OT: What's for dinner thread...23 Jun 2005 03:12 GMT53
Very few mentioned where they're from, but due to the difference in tastes
of what's cooking or what's being done for dinner, I have to ask...
Where are y'all from????
Upstate, NY here.  I'm a southern gal (from Florida) who happened to get
Sheba must be an omnivore23 Jun 2005 02:46 GMT2
She will eat anything except my dried cherries. One evening I was
eating peanut butter on graham crackers. Sheba was in her usual spot
on the footstool at my feet, begging. So I put a smear of peanut
butter on my finger and held it down for her. She bit my finger! I
