What a WONDERFUL Roadcat!01 Jul 2005 00:55 GMT26
Harri girl is proving just what a wonderful kitty she is. She is on 2
liquid antibiotics and vitamin K tablets. She hates them, as they must
taste awful. She initially resists opening her mouth but soon gives in,
and she never really fights me. But here is the unbelievable part:
Harri Roadcat update #4: still hopeful01 Jul 2005 00:47 GMT97
The vet got the lab results back on the fluid he drained from Harri's
chest. It does NOT indicate rat poison as he first thought, rather it
indicates a massive infection. Harri is back on massive antobiotics and
the vet will be operating this afternoon to implant chest tubes. Her ...

I haven't been around much posting--but have been reading--been busy with my
brood.
Spot had a dental and two teeth extracted a week ago.  I am giving him
antibiotic for 14 days.
UPDATE 6: Jean Hobbs30 Jun 2005 22:39 GMT15
First off, Jean wishes to thank absolutley everyone for the wonderful cards
that are still coming in from all around the world. In particular, she'd
like to thank Tweed, who sent a card and some wonderful thoughts even whilst
dealing with her own serious health issues.
Ooo!! Oooo!!30 Jun 2005 22:27 GMT11
I just have to share this story. I am so excited I am going to bust.
We had a board meeting tonight and had a guest who announced he is
donating his 2005 Buick. We're going to see about trading it for a
cargo van. As of now, we have no vehicle and all transportation for
Rant!30 Jun 2005 22:15 GMT21
The people who live across the street just bought their home 6 months ago
for $225,000 (we knew the people who lived there before them and knew what
they were asking for their newly remodeled home).  They have a brand new SUV
in the driveway.  They have a brand new motorcycle in the ...
Looking for home for 2 yr old neutered mail kitty, southern CA (not one of mine!)30 Jun 2005 21:19 GMT2
Actually, I'm looking for homes for two kitties in southern CA. The
first is a 2 year old neutered male, and is a snuggle-monster. The
second is a 4 to 8 week old male. If you know of anyone, please let me know.

Now that Harri Roadcat is home....30 Jun 2005 20:44 GMT12
If anyone knows of a good home in Southern California that needs a
little, tiny kitten...
When Nancy and I were visiting with Harri Friday night one of the vet
techs was checking on a kitten in a nearby cage. This was a little tiny

Update: Holter Monitor30 Jun 2005 18:31 GMT3
Just got a call from Dr. J's nurse.  I'm to go in Tuesday morning, July 5th
and they'll hook up this monitor.  I am NOT being charged for this! YAY!
I'll have to return it Wednesday morning but that's okay.  I'm very thankful
for the extra precaution being taken by my doctor and ...
OT - Humore (a new look at self defense)30 Jun 2005 18:12 GMT1
A friend of mine took his wife to one of those self-defense classes.
One of the lessons was eye-gouging. The instructor told the women that if
they could get their hands near the attackers face, "Place your thumbs in
each of his eyes and push in until his eyes popped out of the ...
Ear...30 Jun 2005 18:07 GMT5
Francis has been fighting. Well, he's been in some sort of scrap.
One of his ears has a bite mark in it. Perfect outline of two big fangs and
between them, the outline of the smaller fangs... perforated through his
ear, just as if he's had his ear in a cat-bite-shaped hole punch.  ...
(OT) ComFest30 Jun 2005 17:46 GMT4
It's been a long, long past week.
They let Richard out of the hospital last Weds. or Thurs. (I'm losing
track of time here).  He did not feel ready to leave, but they felt it
was best for him to go home, and then return to work part-time this
It's not asthma, it's her heart30 Jun 2005 17:31 GMT36
My vet thought the heart looked enlarged. The heart vet was coming in for
another cat this after noon so I went home and got Pearl. She has "mitral
insufficiency". He said it's not real bad but it is causing all the coughing
and throwing up. Biggest thing is to lose weight. He feels ...
uhoh ... tooth trouble ... big time30 Jun 2005 17:18 GMT9
Well, I went to my dentist on Friday to find out why one of my molars
has been hurting when I eat hot food.  He determined that I'd probably
need a root canal, but as it was "a bit calcified" and a rear tooth,
he sent me to an endodontist.
