Help!25 May 2005 00:55 GMT2
What's happening?
The rotten hoomins sent me back to the smelly place today, and left me
there!  And they starved me the night before as well!
They gave me a dish of something, as is my right, early in the evening.
Caught in the act!25 May 2005 00:48 GMT7
BIK Beatrice, whose smurgling on my earlobe keeps me from falling asleep
every night until I lock her out of the bedroom, has been caught in the act
of eating DRY kibble from the 'big cats' dish'. What I don't get is why, if
she's capable of eating dry kibbles, she still has to seek ...

Francis... that cat of mine that's supposed to be NotOfThisWorld if a
certain vet had his way... the cat with CRF...
Francis has decided to cast his opinion on what I've been feeding him: by
catching his own.
[OT] Things to do while unemployed24 May 2005 23:37 GMT5
1. Go through those boxes you brought home two weeks ago, and throw
away the perishable items.
2. Put the "work toys" back into the "eventually give these to
grandkids" box.
Volunteering!24 May 2005 23:08 GMT5
A couple weeks ago, I filled out an application to volunteer at the local
Humane Society.  My first day is this coming Tuesday, and it's just an
orientation session.  I would like to fill in wherever I can, be it
data-entry, cleaning cages/kennels, walking dogs (they do have dog ...
Tiny Dancer24 May 2005 18:15 GMT3
To enter my house, one must climb up four steps. The fourth step is the
threshold of the front door. I am usually looking down as I mount the steps,
because I am so clumsy that I will trip if I am not watching my step all the
time.
Thank you all24 May 2005 17:29 GMT2
I don't have the words to thank everybody enough for all your
compassionate messages, both here and privately. I'm the kind of person
who bottleds things up, and your messages have kept the waterworks open
for three days now, which I think is a good thing. You are really

IBK Beatrice Update24 May 2005 16:16 GMT19
Just as I was packing her up to rush to TED, she wanted to eat! So I called
TED's office and they said to wait, offer more food in an hour, and see if
she holds it down. She just ate a little more and has not vomited again,
she's purring and looking more normal.
Best Cat Toy *EVER*24 May 2005 16:15 GMT13
And I'm talking about store-bought, not something laying around that the
cat(s) happen to take a liking to (milk-rings, bottle caps, TP LOL). And
does not include the 'interactive' kind where the hoomin (slave) is
controlling it (laser pointers, fuzzy-feather-snake, fuzzy mitten, ...
[OT] A confidence booster24 May 2005 16:13 GMT12
I had a half-hour technical interview over the phone today.  Generally
speaking, this is the part I fear the most.  In the past, I've drawn
total blanks, even on stuff that I've worked with for years.
Well, the HR person told me that I would not be expected to know
Oh no! Stay at home purrs?24 May 2005 16:04 GMT13
Well, I've been unemployed for two whole weeks now. Very few job
postings that match my resume, and no nibbles on those.
A couple of times a day, I lie down for a few minutes, to read the
group on my Treo. Little Feet cuddle up under my arm, and dozes off

and smells, well, like a clean damp cat.  He is busily licking himself
to replace the coating of cat spit that was so rudely removed.  The
other two are circling him warily until they can verify his identity.
I survived the dentist :D
Close (but not too close) encounter of the skunk kind?24 May 2005 14:24 GMT1
I came home from a Toastmasters this evening to find a distinct odor of
skunk in my garage, and neither of my cats waiting to greet me.  Usually
Lindy is outside, staying out of the way until I get the car in and turned
off, then coming into the garage.  Occasionally she will be ...
