6 years ago today25 Apr 2005 13:18 GMT25
Yes, 6 years ago today was the worse day of my life- the day I had to
grit my teeth, look the TED straight in the face and say "We're
talking about euthanasia aren't we?"
I still miss Fugazi
Spring is for taking a walk25 Apr 2005 06:30 GMT19
The last of the blizzard is nearly gone now. And I know there won't be
any more. It is glorious Spring! I know cause I hear the toads
croaking! What a chorus. they must have all woke up at the same time.

My husband thinks I'm going soft. I just brought my laptop downstairs
because Memphis is asleep on my study chair!

A modified cat toy - the log roll24 Apr 2005 20:56 GMT2
Around the house are various scratching and climbing toys. The one
in my bedroom is a carpetted two-story condo at the foot of the bed
to try to divert scratching of the mattress (a favorite of all cats
I've ever known!). It sits on carpet and its not very stable. I
Emergency rescenting24 Apr 2005 18:09 GMT8
As I sometimes do, tonight I settled into a tub of hot water, with a
good book ("The Placebo Chronicles" by Douglas Farrago, MD - a book of
funny experiences from the doctor's point of view).
Little Feet took up his protective position at the edge of the tub,
Swimmin with the fishes24 Apr 2005 16:02 GMT8
I had an empty 10 gallon aquarium that I had bought as a "Hospital Tank" for
the Goldfish. But they recovered, so I never ended up using it. I decided to
set it up in the office as a Betta tank. This is also where Smokey sleeps in
the hammock over my desk.
New Pope a cat lover?24 Apr 2005 15:07 GMT20
According to an article in today's Toronto Star Pope Benedict LXI, the
former Cardinal Ratzinger, may very well be an ailurophile! One paragraph
says:
"Italian Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, who worked as Ratzinger's top aide,

Buster's bedmice24 Apr 2005 08:34 GMT2
Buster is an ex-feral, so it makes me feel good to see him learning to
play. Um, well, with some exceptions (grin)...
It is normal for little Feet to help me make the bed - I spread the
sheets, and he rabbit-kicks the sheets into submission. Buster has

Just wanted to remind everyone that Jo Firey gets her Cochlar implant

IBKFergus grows up24 Apr 2005 07:32 GMT24
Those of you with black cats will know just how difficult it is to get a
decent photograph of a them. Most photos just turn out as a black mass, and
if you are really lucky, a black mass with eyes! So I haven't got too many
photos of IBKFergus (she also doesn't stay still long ...
The huntress Roadcat strikes again! (long)24 Apr 2005 04:15 GMT3
Yesterday was a busy day, with a lot of miles to cover. That means lots
of boring hours for the Roadcat, who did a fair amount of arm napping.
Since she was *such* a good girl, and since I'm looking at the
possibility of having to go on the road without her, I decided that last

Phobia we have in common24 Apr 2005 03:35 GMT5
I hate ironing (usually when i've left a big enough pile my partner
does it for me), and Otis hates the ironing board, I don't know why
but he's terrified of it and does a flying leap upstairs everytime it
comes out, perhaps he was a maid in a previous life?
The Esthetics of Cats24 Apr 2005 03:24 GMT8
My Louie and I have been having a philosophical discussion for several weeks
now. It boils down to: when does Cute give way to Pretty or Beautiful?
Now we think all our girls are beautiful, and Stosh is a very hansome fella
in his formalwear. But Louie said one day, "Brandy's cute ...
