[OTish] For my Ego14 Apr 2005 04:49 GMT2
After lots of badgering from family and friends, I'm going to enter a short
story writing competition.
Since I don't currenly have the wherewithall to write a new one (probably
won't until Cary goes to school), I figured I'd just use an old one.

Check out this Peregrine Cam. It'll soon be dark in CA, but bookmark it and

Legal Cat Hunting
Madison, Wisconsin (AP)-- Feline lovers holding pictures of cats, clutching
stuffed animals and wearing whiskers faced-off against hundreds of hunters
at meetings around Wisconsin to voice their opinion on whether to legalize
OT Job purr request :o/13 Apr 2005 17:55 GMT14
Like many RPCA-ers, I'm currently in the job market. :o( Because of
certain circumstances, I've had to quit my PhD. :o( Dark Tiger (my TV
production company) is still working on getting its first contract, so I
have to play in the real world for a while...

I have a followup job interview this morning. Please send prayers, purs,
good thoughts, etc that I get this position. I've been out of work since
February when my temp job ended, and I've been trying like crazy to land a
permanent job. I NEED to be working.
Zoom Groom13 Apr 2005 16:51 GMT6
A friend of mine sent me a brush called ZOOM GROOM by the people who
make KONG dog toys.  She swears by the thing and got me one.
Well, now I swear by it too.
The brush is rubbery, with big fat bristles.  It collects hair by

Dogs of War - Army town struggles to save pets left by troops
Hinesville, Georgia -- The 32 dogs look up with sad eyes or wag their tails
as animal control officer Linda Cordry walks the row of chain-link cages
ending in a door concealing a gas chamber that resembles a large oven.

Captain and Stanley both LOVE interactive wand-style kitty toys. Captain,
in particular, goes nuts for the ones that look like a miniature
feather-duster attached to a long wand. He completely de-feathered the
first one I gave them by constantly playing, stalking, and fighting with
Word of apology (concerning Boy I hope this Works!)13 Apr 2005 16:22 GMT41
There comes a time when a person may vent and say some things which may be
off-topic, or anger-stricken or hurtful, and it appears that on another
thread I may have been guilty. This is the last thing I will post concerning
the remarks on and earlier thread" ("Boy I hope this ...
More mere snippets13 Apr 2005 15:43 GMT3
Just now, I was sitting here reading rpca, and Mere got up on my
shoulder, as she often does. I was just thinking I should go take a
shower and wash my hair, when Mere started grooming my hair. Awww!
I feel I need to build up Frank's confidence with Mere. Frank and Mere
Whimper13 Apr 2005 15:03 GMT36
Well it isn't that bad.  Leonidas (the dumped cat) has never cried.
EVER.  He rarely even talks, except to occasionally remind me that he'd
like to be let to do his business, and then it's usually part of a yawn
(like he doesn't really care).
The curious story of Mickey13 Apr 2005 14:54 GMT4
Mickey is one my my nearest neighbor's cats - he's about 13 years old,
and the neighborhood champion mouser ... or he used to be.  I have
eleven, most of whom don't particularly like Mickey; two of whom get
in fights with him from time to time.
Demi Picture13 Apr 2005 14:16 GMT42
Just took this last night - I swear she loves to post, and I thankful for
that since it's the only time anyone besides me and DH gets to see her!  ;>

Mere fear13 Apr 2005 11:37 GMT11
Mere nearly gave me a heart attack today. Suddenly, she was acting
strange. She hid under chairs and the bed and peeked out fearfully. I
thought she must be ill. She was so strange. In the hallway, she was
alright and even played a little with her rope toy. But when I carried
Need help and advice13 Apr 2005 11:20 GMT47
As you know, Leonidas has been snipped.  I have decided that he will be
an indoor cat (depending on which of us is the most strong willed).  I
need advice here, how long am I going to hear the crying to get out,
the jumping up the wall trying to get to windows?  He has managed to
