OT: What happened to this recipe?21 Mar 2005 10:34 GMT3
I had dinner guests tonight (missionaries from church), and served a
TexMex-ish casserole that usually goes over well (did this time too).
Problem is that it came out rather bland (even I thought so, and I'm a
spice wimp). Did I just hit a bad can of diced chiles or what?

Well, I've had a cough and sore throat since Sunday.  I don't know if the
cough is tearing up my throat badly enough to be sore or if they're two
separate problems.  I stayed home weds and thurs, hoping to be better by
today, but no, I just feel even worse and have transitioned to ...
Ohmygawd - AGAIN!!!21 Mar 2005 02:40 GMT22
I'm a wreck, I'm a total wreck!  My hands are shaking so badly that when I
was getting a saucer down to give Bandit some mineral oil in tuna water, as
per doctor's instructions for the constipation, I dropped it - shattered
it - and cut up my finger all to h*ll!
Six isn't too many, is it?21 Mar 2005 01:23 GMT22
Tomorrow morning I'm going to be interviewed by two kitties who are
looking for a new family to join.
Their person was until recently a postgrad student where I work - she's
leaving Australia soon and has been very worried about finding a place

Please help save two precious cats from needless harm.
My neighbor, Gloria, has two lazy housecats, named Leap-in-the-air and Tubs.
There is a mouse in her house and is Gloria is setting traps for them. The

OT: PBS Show21 Mar 2005 00:56 GMT1
Some of you may recall I correspond with Scott McKenzie of the song 'San
Francisco' fame.  Got an email from him yesterday about a show airing all
month on PBS.  I'm going to have to try to find when it's on locally.

Oliver The Nurse20 Mar 2005 23:17 GMT25
Poor Boone (our Lab) had to have surgery yesterday.  He had a mass on
his abdomen.  I do not have a good feeling about this.  It started out
as a nipple that was just very elongated and it stayed like that for a
year and then it suddenly grew huge, ulcerated, and drained. We ...

OT: Funny Wrong Number20 Mar 2005 21:54 GMT8
Yesterday my phone rang and it was a wrong number.  The man on the phone
(lovely accent - Italian?) said, "This is so-and-so shoe store in Las Vegas.
Did I dial XXX-XXX-XXXX?"  No, I'm sorry, you dialed the wrong area code.
He paused, then said cheerfully, "Well, would you like to ...
oops!20 Mar 2005 21:43 GMT3
I'm currently reading "The cat who came in from the cold" by Deric
Longden.  I started it last night as a way to try to wind my brain
down enough to let me sleep.
It was a mistake, but then I tend to learn best by making mistakes.

The radio station I listen to has been having a kind of Newlywed Game
on all this week. One partner leaves the room while the DJ asks the
other one questions. Then the other one comes back in the room & has to
try to figure out how the partner would have answered.
I'm surrounded! (and Persia is happy!)20 Mar 2005 16:48 GMT1
For some reason there are tons of blackbirds (not crows, but almost as big)
in the trees around my yard.  They are making a lot of noise and Persia is
sitting on the windowsill, staring up, absolutely fascinated.  I went out to
get the mail and - wow!

Once again I'm posting blanket, multi-purpose purrs (and birdie chirps) for
everyone who needs them, feline, dog, human, et.al.  I try to respond to
individual requests but there are so many of them... please know I send
purrs even if you don't get an individual reply to a request.
