Sunny the cockatiel has flown to the RB02 Feb 2005 18:00 GMT33
I've mentioned several times that I have feathered family members as
well as the cats. The birds came first, the cats moved in several
years later. When I gave the birds clean water and  food this
afternoon both were fine. I went outside for about half an hour, and

Miss Chloe and Mr. Tyronasaurus go in in an hour and a half to get fixed.  I
normally wouldn't be concerned, but the vet isn't even keeping them
overnight; I just drop them off and pick them up before the office closes.
Is this a normal procedure?  Every other animal I've had ...
Finally - a name02 Feb 2005 16:26 GMT17
As many of you know, DH and I are both auto racing fans and yet neither
of us felt that the name Mario fit our little black cat.  Every time I
tried it out I'd see that obnoxious little guy from the video games.
None of the M names seemed right.  TED thinks he's around 1.5 y/o ...
An incredibly funny video on cats02 Feb 2005 07:00 GMT6

OT: snicker02 Feb 2005 05:11 GMT2
So, I am sitting at my computer playing Bubbels. Not working can be
hell. Anyway, the tv is turned to the noon news. And as happens the
sponsors got to have their say. First was some ad about some depression
medication, and had people coming on talking about how their life was
Horrible Tasteless TV Show02 Feb 2005 04:01 GMT120
OK, what's new right?
"Still Standing" showed an episode about the wife's sister's cat dying.
None of the characters showed even a modicum of sympathy, but made fun of
the woman for grieving and made fun of the cat.  I've never seen a show
OT: Karen?  Madeleine Peyroux02 Feb 2005 03:54 GMT1
Got the 'Careless Love' CD to play at John's art shows (his oils are mostly
blues and jazz themes) and I'm loving this album!  Thanks for the
recommendation!

spayed kitten update02 Feb 2005 03:00 GMT4
Well, Scout and Silver will let us handle them again... on Friday
night Scout would run and hide if you bent down to touch her, and
Silver would stand her ground and swear profusely at you. They're back
to being cuddly now, but on their own terms only. If they come to you

Sleepless night01 Feb 2005 22:09 GMT32
I had the most awful nightmare last night, about Boyfriend.  I dreamt I
heard the screech of brakes outside, and then a car speeding away.  I went
out of the front door and found Boyfriend on the pavement (sidewalk)
thrashing around with an obviously broken back.  I gently picked ...
We need some family purrs :o(01 Feb 2005 22:08 GMT29
I just found out that my ex-sister-in-law died in a house fire a few days
ago. :o( She had divorced my husband's brother a few years ago. They have
two sons: one in his early 20s and one in high school. As far as I'm
concerned, the mother of my nephews is family no matter that she ...
OUCH!01 Feb 2005 20:31 GMT15
First, apologies for not posting much lately - I'm battling the flu (which
is, I think, my body telling me to quit pushing so hard lately and take a
rest).  Purrs to everyone who needs them.
Next, OUCH!  I was sitting at my desk a few minutes ago when Sammy jumped up
more purrs for humans, please01 Feb 2005 20:26 GMT19
I promised myself this year would be less fraught with upsets than the last
....
Well, two things.
DH's grandmother is once again in the hospital for complications to pneumonia.
Oscar's little adventure01 Feb 2005 19:53 GMT8
It snowed last night, so a couple of inches of the white stuff cover our deck.
There's a wet-but-clear path right along the house, though.
Well, I opened the back door and encouraged Oscar to take a look.  The idea
was, she would take one step onto the soggy wet mat and retreat.  I ...
[OT] Yowlet with Vegemite01 Feb 2005 19:53 GMT41
Cary demonstrates what to do (or maybe not) when you encounter your first
vegemite sandwich.
