Scary cat incident - update & photos05 Feb 2005 21:07 GMT9
Thank you all for your words of support.  Chester had to go back to the vet
for pilling the next day (Fred was away and I can't do it) and they checked
his temperature.  He had a nasty fever so they gave him some aspirin and
he's perked up.  TED says that the puncture wound has ...
Major purrs please for Pericles05 Feb 2005 20:04 GMT36
This is hard to write.
In the last few days Pericles, my lovely 6yo red tabby Maine Coon, has
been a bit subdued and developed a bit of a pot belly. As he had a
slightly below normal appetite I was suspicious and thought it might
OT: The Village - a close encounter05 Feb 2005 19:34 GMT1
We just finished watching "The Village". Without spoiling the story for
those who haven't seen it (we recommend it), there are these monsters in
the woods who wear red cloacks. It's not a scary movie, more like a
suspense movie, but you end up a bit jumpy, particularly towards

Trip to the Vet05 Feb 2005 16:14 GMT14
Speckles developed symptoms much like UTI.  So off to the vet this
morning.  We got her back this afternoon - sure enough, UTI.
Antibiotics for the next couple of weeks.  This is the kitty who goes
into tornado mode if she even *sees* a pill.  Looking forward to
Another lame joke05 Feb 2005 07:48 GMT2
Sent by a friend of mine.
A blonde lady motorist was two hours from San Diego, -- when she was flagged
down by a man whose truck had broken down.
The man walked up to the car and asked, "Are you going to San Diego?"
OT It makes me laugh, so there05 Feb 2005 06:42 GMT5
Every so often, some tiny scrap of something I see on TV just catches
me offguard, and strikes me as being very funny-- probably funnier
than it really is.  Usually some dumb commerical will just tickle me
to death, adn I won't be able to get it out of my mind.  I hate to
Bubbels mystery04 Feb 2005 22:46 GMT13
Ok, so I'm playing a game of bubbels before getting to work (no, I'm not
addicted!)... :)
Anyhow, I'm down to 5 colors and I have a couple dozen bubbels in the
screen. I shoot out one bubble and suddenly I get the "game over" sign
Puss Puss' friend Midnight (long and sad)04 Feb 2005 20:49 GMT23
Hi All,
This is a sad tale.  It happened in West Hempstead, NY many years ago.
Around the corner from DH lived Mary C, long since  grown into a dear
woman of an age with yours truly, but the beginning of this story
Franny Cat  (RB - a long time ago)04 Feb 2005 17:54 GMT10
Thinking we'd lost Smudge yesterday really panicked me.
I've had 5 cats before her;
One declawed New York City Kitty (JonJon) who we got at a pet store as a
kitten.  He was my caretaker, better than any guard dog.  I took JonJon to
Why's everybody always hissin' at me?04 Feb 2005 17:28 GMT1
First, let me offer purrs to everyone in need. Its as if this week
things fell apart for everyone. I'm trying to keep up but I'm doing the
weekly migraine things we discussed last week so its difficult.  But
I'll try:
We caved.....04 Feb 2005 17:09 GMT13
....and now have a pretty, long haired black cat living in our spare
bedroom. First, DH woke me up at 7:45 this morning to tell me that
Mariah was outside waiting on food and that its cold outside.  I went
out and fed her and she had a grand time running around the yard
BW:  Tale from another group04 Feb 2005 15:57 GMT6
I was just browsing another group and found this story.  I believe it
to be a true account, as the author is known for his seriousness and
ernestness.
Regards and Purrs,
Scary cat incident - LONG04 Feb 2005 02:36 GMT40
I had a very upsetting afternoon.  I can't remember the last time I've seen
a stray cat around here.  I've lived in the neighbourhood for 8 years and
we've never had one.
Sam and I came home after lunch today to find a stray tabby, an unneutered
A few purrs for Joel(DH)?04 Feb 2005 02:20 GMT37
If there's a few spare purrs around, I think Joel, my DH, could use a few.
Its been a crappy month, money has been a big issue and we ran out before we
could get Joel all the medication he needs and we couldn't afford his to pay
for his psychologist appointment so had to cancel, and ...
