Job angst and news27 Jan 2005 08:12 GMT14
I lost my good job back in June of 03. Shortly afterwards I got a temp
job that lasted until the end of the year. Since then I have been
unemployed, got a very sporadic on call part time job in October.
Submitted my resume all over the place, even had a few interviews. And

Just wondering if the Sonya has had her kittens yet or is she still hanging in there?
IBKFer....?27 Jan 2005 05:25 GMT22
Fergie? Fergette? Fergusina? Fergusia?
Turns out that IBK(formallyknownas)Fergus is actually a her. The, err, boy
bits turned out to be a strange optical illusion from the very faint tabby
pattern within her fur. They didn't look quite so, err, boy-like today, and

New low score!!!  54!!!
(Ok, in binary it was 54. Really it was 110110. hehehe)
Since we have so many newbies, time to share the game that will ruin
your life, your sleep, and your freetime.
OT My Dad is dying TW27 Jan 2005 03:27 GMT47
I found out today what I had suspeected for a couple of days, that my
Dad is dying.  He went into the hospital last Tuesday with severe
Congestive Heart Failure, his lungs had almost filled completely with
fluid, on top of that he had a kidney infection that was probably
Amazing Ted (long)27 Jan 2005 03:21 GMT40
No, not the v*t - our aged calico cat, Ted.
Ted is now 18-and-a-bit years old and has been diabetic since she was
12 or so.  She is also very arthitic, completely toothless, somewhat
deaf and quite blind.  An old cat, but any description, who sleeps
Don't Step on the Ducks! (OT Joke)27 Jan 2005 02:48 GMT19
Three women die together in an accident and go to heaven.  When they get
there, St. Peter says, "We only have one rule here in heaven: don't step on
the ducks!"
So they enter heaven, and sure enough, there are ducks all over the place.
Weird morning (sort of long)27 Jan 2005 02:04 GMT6
Since Scarlett got her drain out, I decided today is the day I
would start letting all 4 cats share all of the house. She's doing
well, and up until now I had wanted to keep at least her separated
from the others until she could heal, and put on some weight
update - oscar and dad27 Jan 2005 01:50 GMT1
It occured to me that I never "closed out" my post about Oscar and Dad.
Dad has been out of the hospital for a week after having a small portion of
his small intestines removed.  He's feeling well, although he won't be allowed
to ride his bike for a while still.  His stomach shrunk ...
Oliver's 3rd Birthday27 Jan 2005 01:09 GMT51
Today is Oliver's 3rd birthday.  When we found him the vet thought he
was born the first week of may and since we're Star Trek nerds and had
already given him the designation 5 of 5 it seemed to fit.  Plus my RB
Argus the Golden Retriever was born on May 7th and we wanted ...
I'm down with OPC  (Other People's Cats)27 Jan 2005 00:37 GMT14
Ok, have you ever met a cat that you absolutely adored, but it belonged
to someone else?  I have a few that come to mind...
The first was Odie (Otis Redding).  Odie was my Mom's cat - he showed
up in her warehouse at work with his sibling one winter - skinny,

Purrs for a new baby kit, please?27 Jan 2005 00:22 GMT33
I have a feeding station for some feral and hard stray cats in my garage.
This afternoon, when I went out to feed them and make sure that their water
was not frozen (it is -1 degree F with a wind chill of -18 F, and it is a
full blizzard out there!) I found 2 newborn kits. Sadly, ...
