The Inaugral Dave Yehudah "Hi Y'All" award28 Jan 2005 17:33 GMT9
Haven't sorted out the exact details yet, but here's the idea:
Nominate you favourite post from the last year that reflects the sort of
things Dave Y stood for: honour, decency, love of life, love of animals,
gentleness of spirit, laughing at one's self, mischeviousness, love of
The Saga of the Cat Carriers28 Jan 2005 16:14 GMT1
I think I may have mentioned the arrival of Bruce in the home of
Harry-the-cat. Bruce has settled in very nicely, aside from his dining
problems. His new hoomins put down two bowls, one for Bruce and one for
Harry. Bruce starts eating his, decides Harry's looks better, tries to eat
RIP Johnny Carson28 Jan 2005 13:35 GMT5
We've had our cable turned off for a couple of weeks (due to customer
service issues with that nasty little monopoly) and I've just heard of the
passing of one of my favorite funny-men, Johnny Carson. In keeping with his
spirit of humor, his unabashed desire and ability to push the ...

Anniversary28 Jan 2005 11:19 GMT32
I'm "celebrating" seven years with RPCA, since January 1998.  Cruising
down Memory Lane, thinking about what a joyride it's been.  Grateful
to those who so warmly welcomed this ignorant, dumb-bunny into the
fold.  Missing those who no longer post - TJ, Aim, HazelAz, and
Update Texas woman w/ spine infection28 Jan 2005 10:47 GMT8
Thank you to all who responded to my purr request for my co-worker's wife
who is in the hospital with a spinal infection.
I'm sorry I wasn't able to get back with everyone, but RL got in the way.
Anyway, the husband was back at work today and said that his wife is still
purrs for Phoenix please28 Jan 2005 09:50 GMT21
Phoenix is going to the vets for the necessary 'snip 'n chip' tomorrow
morning. Purrs would be much apprieciated. I will problably be much more
worried than I need be, as it is the first time I have ever had a pet, and
have never taken one to the vet before! (All jabs etc were ...
Some New Pics of my babies28 Jan 2005 07:49 GMT7
Hi all, I (finally) added some new pictures of my four footed family  to my
yahoo photo album, today. Now you can see how pretty Nina is in her
adolescence. =o) You also get to see how Pan looked with his  peg leg.  He's
still sulking majestically in the closet, and I'm afraid his ...
The unfathomable28 Jan 2005 06:53 GMT12
I will never fathom the unfathomable depth that is the mind of the feline.
The mighty huntress, when out, has taken to be demanding to be in - not at
the front door, not at the back door, not at the side door, not even from
the window sill.
I'd forgotten...28 Jan 2005 06:53 GMT7
After being the Meowmy to a senior-citizen kitty for years, I'd forgotten
what it's like to have kittens in the house. For example, there is the
occasional almighty CRASH as they explore something new, and discover the
hard way that the something would've been better left alone.
Tanada and Me:  TMI and Gross warning28 Jan 2005 06:53 GMT38
Tanada and I are two GOWs (Grouchy Old Women) with grudging respect for
each other.  We even like each other most of the time.  We even have a
lot in common.  In fact, we even learn from each other upon occasion.
I tried to get to sleep at a reasonable hour last night because I ...
Snow28 Jan 2005 06:34 GMT21
I know it's not the most desirable subject, but it sure has my attention
today. I'm a ways south of Rochester, NY< USA, and we got six inches
yesterday, another three today. Temps about 10 F. I'm told that closer to
Lake Ontario got bombed with about a foot.
Hot Heads28 Jan 2005 06:11 GMT12
My collection can't be the only ones who show this behavior.  When
there's a patch of sunlight on the floor, many cats will lie in to
soak up some rays -- everyone knows this.  At night though, when the
lights are on, mine will put their head almost up against the light

...with r.p.c.h+b.  Can I hang out with you guys?  I've finally just
had *enough*.
My name is Lyn, I'm 41 (yikes!) and live near Portland, OR.  I have two
feline companions - Mimi (14) and Peewee (13), two canines, two snakes
Possible job lead28 Jan 2005 05:45 GMT31
I just stumbled across a job opening that looks very attractive. Linux
system admin for a company about 15 miles from where I live. From the
description they posted, it sounds like it would be a near-perfect fit!
Let's keep our fingers crossed that they are as interested in me as ...
