Oh how I hate reading these things, but will I stop doing so - NO!  I really
need to cancel my CNN "alert" for the keyword "cat".  Although it sometimes
brings up nice little stories that I enjoy, it too often brings up stuff
like this (at least thie sickos were fired and charged ...
Kind of a cute show07 Jan 2005 18:46 GMT4

Anniversary Tomorrow!07 Jan 2005 18:46 GMT22
Gonna light some candles on the anniversary of Persia selecting me as her
slave on January 6, 2001.  She's such a sweet, loving, snuggly kitty and I'm
so grateful she chose me :)
For those who don't know, Persia came to my back patio door 4 years ago
OT: How do you tell your father...07 Jan 2005 18:24 GMT20
...the book he sent you, which he thinks you can sell for an exhorbitant
amount of money, isn't worth more than a couple hundred bucks?
Dad is funny.  He wouldn't talk to me for months after I hooked back up with
my LLL (long lost love) other than to say "hi" and pass the phone to ...
Kissing warm kitty paws07 Jan 2005 15:56 GMT2
We have two electric heating pads on during winter (wrapped in towels).
Shadow is 15 and can use the extra heat on her old bones. The second one
came out because Cloudy, who thinks she's Queen Kitty, kept kicking
Shadow off the heating pad.

I'm still curious about how your kitties were named - by you and John
or were those their names when you adopted them.  I love Silver and
Scout but, for some odd reason, when I read them I think Lone Ranger
horses!  Not at all apropos.
oscar's windfall07 Jan 2005 13:23 GMT11
Hi all!  This is Oscar.  Mom Monique has told you all about me.  Of course,
she got most of it wrong, but what can you expect?
Anyway, I thought I'd tell you about my unusual day.  Mom got up early for
some reason and started mucking about in the kitchen.  See, she got this
OT: Exercise machine07 Jan 2005 11:23 GMT19
So, we're thinking of getting an exercise machine. This one looks like a
good choice, albeit an expensive one:

does anybody have any experience with this or any other cardio equipment
Something good from something so bad.07 Jan 2005 08:20 GMT14
A few months ago our branch of Cats Protection took in two middle aged
neutered boys, because their owner was moving abroad and couldn't take them
with him. He'd moved in, temporarily, with his sister, who is allergic to
cats, and he'd put his house up for sale to fund the move.
matted fur07 Jan 2005 07:38 GMT11
Billy and Lily are getting lumps of tangled fur on their undersides. They
are beyond combing and brushing out, and I'm scared to try to cut them off.
They seem to trust me enough but I don't trust myself. Who can tell me the
safest procedure? I don't want it to get any worse than it ...
uhoh -- adoption advice needed07 Jan 2005 00:24 GMT54
So, as some of you may know, I have a cat named Oscar.  I had a cat named Eros
for one month, but my husband was allergic to him and Oscar hid under the bed
from his friendly advances.  Eros was adopted early this week, and I am very
happy about that.
OT Humane mousetraps?07 Jan 2005 00:19 GMT9
Does anyone know if you can get humane mousetraps at a store? Mom has
another mouse in the house and the cats just kind of "patrol". She does NOT
want to kill it. She found a poisoned mouse and swore she would never do
that. Much thanks.
Double standard07 Jan 2005 00:13 GMT22
Why is it that someone can post a very long rant against "America-bashing",
and get all kinds of supportive, you-go-girl, "me-too" posts in response,
and not one single person says "Hey, this isn't a political newsgroup, this
is a NICE forum, can't you keep the political rants off ...
Yule present and Nikki purrs for the new year06 Jan 2005 21:59 GMT29
Look at the pillow case my sister gave me for Yule:

The caption says, "Just five more minutes".
And now I can offer real purrs to anyone in need. I managed to record a
Money well spent06 Jan 2005 20:32 GMT4
Got the furballs a cat tower for their Winter Solstice gift.  Just arrived
a couple of days ago.  WOW!  What a hit!  Both of them have stopped clawing
the furniture, preffering the rope coiled poles. & It's better than an
arobics workout, the way they're playing on it.  Currently, ...
